you missed a letter.
Or the fact that Hunters won't really play like a Metroid game...

I don't get it.

Nintendo had better make a Super Metroid port for the DS, they skipped the GBA. I think that they will continue making Side Scrolling Metroid games, they could just add N64 graphics to it, much like that "Inugasha" (It is definetly said differently and spelled differently.) game for the Gamecube. It is like Phalanx games just Gamecube graphics.
sip sand, tard!

oh, come on, give me a break. it was the best i could do without spending too much time on it. :P
What luck, there's french fry stuck in my beard.
And people call me confusing...
They could make it SSBM-style, which is 3D even though you play it in 2D.
dragonfangs that IS the frigging best idea evah that is at least one thing they should do i like it i ike it allot!

Nah.  I love the Super Metroid sprites.  Long live 2D graphics.
I vote for updated graphics. Something along the lines of Viewtiful Joe would be pretty cool.
Power to the sprite! *Raises fist in solidarity* I miss sprites....
SM DS port would be awesome.  The bottom screen would have the map.
Quote from Lynk Former:
Anyone waiting for a DS port of SM will have to wait till Metroid Prime 3 (or whatever it is called when it comes out) is released.

Why? Well just look at the line up...

Metroid - released on the NES - console
Metroid II - released on the GB - handheld
Super Metroid - released on the SNES - console
Metroid Fusion - released on the GBA - handheld
Metroid Prime - released on the GCN - console
Metroid Zero Mission - released on the GBA - handheld
Metroid Prime 2 - released on the GCN - console
Metroid Prime Hunters - being released on the DS - handheld
...

if you haven't noticed the trend you need to get your eyes checked... console, handheld, console, handheld, etc...

Hi. New guy here.

The only problem I see with that theory is the fact that Hunters will suck unless they do something about the abysmal control scheme, because despite what you may believe, the only way to get the precision of a mouse is to, in fact, use a mouse; any other method, like a thumbstrap affixed to your digit in a chokehold simply isn't going to work, especially since you will have to keep track of firing your weapon (R button), moving forward/backward/left/right (X/B/Y/A respectively), jumping (double-tap the screen), and the position of your own thumb so you don't go into Morph Ball mode during crucial times, like killing somebody before they get an item that makes them invincible or something.

On-topic, I think a port of Super Metroid is overdue...I mean, it's been, what, a decade since the original release? Yeah, it's definately due, at least as a bonus feature for beating a Gamecube version, since it probably wouldn't fit on a GBA cart with another full Metroid game on it.

hehe Maybe it'll be an unlockable in Hunters. God no...
red chamber dream
It would fit on a DS disc though.

MPH >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> dual analog. Of course it can't duplicate mouse/keyboard, but it's damn close.

Ready and willing.
Um... any reason you randomly went into Hunters bashing? I mean, I'm not seeing much hope either for reasons of it being a completely generic FPS, but it had nothing to do with the topic at hand, other than the mere mention of Hunters. And since we HAVE a Hunters forum... there's really no excuse.
