I don't know, I'm not digging the sort of urban setting this game has. Sky scrapers and wandering businesspeople just don't seem to go with the rest of the game.
red chamber dream
it's a step in the right direction. just a step though.
Not impossible
just highly unlikely
Maybe they'll take the oppertunity to add one single npc whose entire fucking life doesn't revolve around pokemon.
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
No wonder the game is so long nowadays, with battles like those.  They're getting worse and worse.

Wild Pokemon appeared!

It's not very effective.

the battles are my favorite part, but that may be because nothing else in the pokemon games is ever interesting at all. so it's a step in the right direction (making the battles better), but the real solution i think would be to make the rest of the game more compelling.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Making the battles take longer with lame animation is not the the same as making them better.
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
The battles are my favourite part too, but they're just getting longer and longer...
my umbrella goes directly to Bankai
if i had to guess, i think they're setting up the 3rd version to be a 3DS game so they can re-release BW with better looking graphics for people who didn't like the current state.
also, it must be an awfully long job to animate 600+ pokes (assuming 5th gen adds 100+)
they probably all do the same thing, so i doubt it was all that hard.
I hope they keep the old Pokés out of the new gen. A fresh start sort of thing.

Watch the video posted on the previous page.
It was six minutes. You think I have time for that?!

I never seriously thought they would. a) They're yet to top the 1st and 2nd gen Pokémon in terms of appeal and b) this is Pokémon, which has barely changed in over a decade.
red chamber dream
i'd say the chances of that are about zero ...

they have to draw all the sprites for each poke. contrary to popular belief, computers aren't magic.
well do the pokemon just bounce up and down or do they each do something unique? i forget what it looked like in the video.
red chamber dream
dunno. i think it's more than just bouncing up and down though.
i know in one of the games, on their stats screen their sprite just sorta stretches out while it plays their cry.
Club 27 Goals
Some pokemon do that, but I know others like Zubat and stuff flap their wings, things like that.

right. we're talking about black and white though. that's not to say they won't do something like that again, but i think most pokes will have individual animations.
oic. yeah who knows. as long as it doesn't make the battles way too fucking long.
red chamber dream
yeah hopefully you can turn them off ...
Mister ...
Hasn't there always been the option to disable battle animations in the menu?
red chamber dream
yep. we're hoping that stays in.
I liked the animations. Without them, the game might as well be running on DOS for all I care.
red chamber dream
oh i like them too and generally leave them on during my main playthrough. when you're grinding though it's a total waste of time.
Club 27 Goals
I will usually have them on for the first two gyms or so, then disable them until I get to the cool battles (elite four)
