gyarados's ice fang. mine could outspeed them so hollaaaaa

Yeah, I'd imagine if I was closer in level to them (My guys are all 42-43 after facing Sabrina in Kanto, so as you can see I'm still vastly underlevel) it wouldn't have been a problem for Jynx to blow them away.
Merry Christmas
Just beaten Lt. Surge. 5 more to go
5? Didn't start with him as soon as you got to Kanto I take it?

At this point I'm about to go after Janine, who will be #5 in the Kanto leader line. I've got Entei, Raikou, and Latias roaming, and need to go back to Jotho to continue with Suicune's line since I apparently missed a spot at Mt. Mortar. Other than the leaders themselves, my team has caught and passed most of the trainers in level now it would seem. (48-50 by this point.) I realized earlier that I hadn't considered the fact that I basically started six pokemon from level 1, so there is a good chunk of XP that I spent just to get them all going that I probably wouldn't have needed to if I had simply caught all of them normally.

just fought red - his pokes were lvl 80-88 while mine were all around 56. i beat four of his before losing, lol.

prime hunter: where do you find lati@s?

I ran into Steven Stone (Champ from R/S) when I was on the way out of the Fan Club in Vermillion after getting the Copycat's Pokedoll. (Have to talk to her and find out she's missing her Clefairy doll that she lost somewhere in Vermillion.) He told me that Latias was wandering around Kanto, and then it appeared on the map just like Raikou and Entei. I've run into it once, but I haven't been seriously hunting for it yet like I was with the other two last night. (Managed to catch Raikou with a Dusk Ball, and Entei is asleep and in the red but I gave up on him for the night.)

You've got SoulSilver, so you're going to see Latios when you get to this point. Apparently, according to Serebii there's an event that will let you spawn the other one (and get their Soul Dew item at the same time I believe), but luckily it won't be roaming. I think Japan already got the event, so it's only a matter of time before everyone else does I would expect. (Sounds like there's also a Celebi event coming down the pipe based on what they found, but I won't spoil what happens in that one because it's pretty cool.)

Heh, speaking of which, I've also gotten the Silver Wing now, so I can take a side trip to the Whirl Islands and get me a Lugia. Guess I have a few reasons to go buy more Dusk Balls then. And on the topic of Lugia/Ho-oh, I loved the atmosphere of the Bell Tower and climbing that thing, since you could hear all of the creaking boards and such alongside the music as you went higher.

Edit:
Not sure if you know this one yet, but once you get all 16 badges, like you already have if you've gotten to Red, Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and Mewtwo can be found and caught at various locations throughout Kanto. And you can head over to a hidden tower on Route 47 and find Groudon as well once you do a little more. I'll get Kyogre once I get to that point. If you were able to get both HG/SS versions of Groudon and Kyogre onto the same game, Raayquaza could be caught as well.

If you want to see all of the info on the Legendaries, here's the page on Serebii about them: Legendaries

i actually caught articuno ... haven't seen moltres and zapdos yet (fuck spoilers lol)

HG/SS is probably my new favorite pokemon game now. Crystal used to be my all-time favorite, but since this is a remake with just more stuff added, it bumps Crystal down to second.

Yeah, probably don't need to have all of that in spoilers, but whatever.

Zapdos is probably the one that doesn't seem to fit where they put him, since it's kinda like they simply threw him there to say he's in the game. Completely out in the open once you know where to look.

I still need to defeat Blaine and Blue, but once that's done I'll be able to go hunting after all of the legendaries. (Doubt I could take Red since all of my guys are only lvl 50, but I could still try if I wanted.) That was part of my decision to get HG actually, since I have Ruby and this will be the first time I've been able to get both Latias and Kyogre and they're more or less exclusive to this version. (And haven't had Lugia since Gen II, but everyone can get it in the end.)

On a side note, should probably direct everyone's attention to this: Gym Leader Rematches

It shows you which pokemon they all have on their teams, but I'm putting it here because there's a few hoops you have to go through before you can do this. It's basically like the place in Platinum where you could challenge the leaders again each day. I've gotten Whitney, Chuck, and Jasmine's numbers so far, and once their days come around I can call them and they'll be at the Fighting Dojo in Saffron with remastered teams.

Edit: Oh goodie... time to climb Mt. Silver and see how quickly I die to Red and his team. Seeing as most of them are 50-52, with my Feraligatr at 58, I foresee lots and lots of pain real quick once I make my way up to him. But it won't hurt to try, right? At least by doing this I'll learn the correct path up the mountain, at any rate.

gaaaah this game has soooo much content its crazy (especially if you compare it to older pokemon games)
red chamber dream
meh, i'm pretty much done with the game for a while. don't really see a reason to go and catch all the legendaries. it was fun for the 40+ hours it lasted though.
Merry Christmas
Just got Groundon, Kyogre & Rayquaza. Now to get Latias/Latios.

Btw, Lt. Surge looks like Duke Numen

(Already beaten Red 5 times today) =D
As expected, Red is kicking my butt all across the mountain. I can take out about half of the team though on good runs, so that's saying something. (Doesn't hurt that I have 5 max revives in tow, and can one shot his Pikachu with an earthquake from Donphan.)

Once I beat (or temporarily give up on) Red, and get some other things in order, my play time is probably going to drop off considerably compared to the almost non-stop playing I've put into it. Still going to try and catch the legendaries that I've missed though before that happens most likely.

The only time I ever play HG/SS is right before I go to bed, usually only put an hour or two into it at most per night. So that probably means its going to take me quite awhile before I get too far into it :(. I'll probably play it a ton over spring break if I end up going up to the snow with my parents (5 hours car rides ftw :))
"go to the snow" ... are you going with your parents to canada or something?
red chamber dream
we're leaving, yukon ho!
Club 27 Goals
Well, I guess there wouldn't be any snow there now. It's one of my mom's friend's house, and it snows there during the winter. They have a reaaaally big house and its really fun to go there, but the car ride takes awhile.

Bring a few Isaac Asimov novels along, as well as Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game Very Happy

On a side note, I finally got off my lazy ass and ordered Heart Gold. Should be here in 3-5 days, yay!

Through heavy abuse of Max Revives and normal Revives, my team, lead by my Choice Scarfed lvl 65 Feraligatr (Others were lvl 50 - 55), manged to take down Red! (Jynx pulled through against Lapras in the end.) Took me MANY MANY attempts to break through some of the tougher pokemon on his team (Namely his Lapras, Venusaur, and Blastoise) and a lot of status moves, but I got through him finally.

Now off to find Kyogre, the last legendary I've yet to catch as far as I know.

Edit: Uh... where'd my Focus Sash go? Does it only have a one-use lifespan in normal gameplay or something? I had it attached to my Jynx for the battle, and now it's simply gone from both her and my pack. Definitely came in handy against Red though, and I can always get another one, but I never expected it to disappear like that.

Maybe a pokemon used that one attack that takes whatever item the other pokemon is holding? That would be pretty lol if the AI used it :P
