does it cost extra in other countries or something? in the us the pokewalker is bundled for the same price. if it's more, then meh, i wouldn't waste your money. haven't actually used it yet (i'm about to go on a walk with it though), but it doesn't seem like something i would ever spend money on. and i'm big on walking.

got the ninth badge yesterday using mainly my ampharos's signal beam v. surge. pretty effective.

The Ho-oh figurine is super cool btw

Did that come with your preorder? Never heard of those figurines.
red chamber dream
they were preorder only. probably not in germany though because nintendo hates europe.
Mister ...
It does come bundled, but HG/SS is $40 instead of $35.  I've heard that some people who paid the $35 back when they reserved it ended up having to pay an extra $5 because of it.

Eh, I guess $5 isn't too bad.  Not sure why I was thinking Pokemon would be $30.  :P  Still, $40 is just a bit more than what I'm willing to pay for a handheld game.

I'm currently using it while watching FlashFoward, since I tend to move around a lot during commercials. (First time I've used it so far.) Seems like it could potentially be useful in the long run, since I've found two Oran Berries on it and I needed more to help heal the Miltank anyway, so that works for me. If anything else, it will give you a chance to find some pretty rare pokemon once you can get to the later walking areas.

Edit: And man, I seriously need to train my guys a bit. Chuck and his Primeape/Poliwrath completely destroyed me. My team is a good 5 or so levels behind where I should be at this point it seems, and even though I nearly took out Jasmine's team when I attempted to face them, the level difference already makes me think we need to be stronger before heading back towards Mahogany and the Rockets. Starting to see what other people have said about Jotho not having as many trainers as the other areas, because it's clearly showing now that I'm at the point I've gotten to. Either that, or it;s because I wasn't fighting against the wild pokemon for a good stretch in the middle and could've had a few more levels by now.

er ... no? it's not? it's $35 everywhere i've looked. bought ss release day at gamestop for $35. on amazon it's even a few bucks less.
Mister ...
I went to Target, GameStop, and whatever else I could find and they all had price tags of $39.99, so maybe it's just a local thing.  :\

It was 39.99 at my gamestop as well. When I ordered it online though I got 10% off and free shipping, so in the end it was close to 35$.
red chamber dream
weird. can always just order from amazon and get automatic free shipping (since it's over $25). costs less than it would in any store, too.
That's what I ended up doing, and it cost 35 in the end. (With a 5 dollar savings) Before it came out, I had heard it was going to cost 40 anyway, which is part of the reason I ordered it online.

I finally gotten 8 badges now and caught the legendary bird Pokemon Lugia (without Master Ball) after taking on the Kimono Girls and going through that Whirlpool Islands.
I got Lv.55 Typhosion,
Lv.30 (RED) Gyarados (Found at Lake of Rage)
Lv.45 Lugia
Lv.18 Togetic... =(
Lv.21 Suwoodoo(the pokemon tree thats was blocking Goldenrod city and Eruetka City)
Now I feel like I'm ready to take on the Pokemon League then Challenge Kanto Gym leaders.

EDIT: I still haven't found TM Thunderpunch yet in this game and it would be very useful taking on Lance's Pokemon...=(

After I eat dinner, I get to finish climbing the Bell Tower and take on Ho-oh. I must say, I liked the addition of the Kimono Girls throughout the story, and the segment at the Dance Theater where they're recounting the journey was kinda cool. Their battle was pretty tough for my team, seeing as all of them are in the mid 30s right now. Definitely have a bad feeling that we're going to be underpowered by the time I get to the Elite Four, but hopefully the path through Routes 26 & 27, along with Victory Road, will narrow the gap a bit before I get there.

Hate to break it to you, but there's no Thunderpunch TM, since all of the TMs are the same ones as D/P/Pt had. I think it's a Move Tutor now, but I couldn't tell you where you need to go to get it.

Edit: Wow, didn't expect to catch it that easily. (Granted, I feel like I cheated in a way since I sent out Houndoom after a while, and none of Ho-oh's moves could hit it) And luckily, it's stats/nature seem pretty good as well, so I'm happy with how that turned out.

Summoning scene was great, and the fact that it's dusk made the sky orange during the whole thing, which blended with the scene perfectly.

IIRC you can buy it at the same place you buy Icepunch (in the mall-like big building with lots of floors of stores).
Also, isn't dragontype weak against ice?
Yes it is.
red chamber dream
well technically dragon is fine against ice. ice is just good against dragon.
Club 27 Goals
oh, yeah that's what I meant.

I caught a Magby and Machop today with my pokewalker, totally awesome :D
Yeah, I definitely should've trained a bit more before seriously tackling the Elite Four. Only reason I managed to defeat Lance in the end was through shear luck. Appropriate that my Feraligatr was the one that went up against his Charizard, which came last. The new Hall of Fame changes were pretty cool, and actually made it feel like you'd accomplished something.

So once I trade them over to Platinum to make some upgrades and give some of them Move Tutor abilities, they're going to be headed towards Vermilion and the rest of Kanto. (A good 28+ hours into this adventure!)

did you get lucky with a pair of scissors or something? i'd hate to see the offspring ...

Haha... I get it, alright? Wink

Point is, the entire game so far has been a bit tougher than it could be because I'm a few levels behind where the other trainers/leaders are. Not so much that I'm getting frustrated at every turn, but the overall feel of the game is different than if I had blown through everything as always. Makes each accomplishment more rewarding in a way because I had to work a bit to get through them.

Wondering how much that will change once I get to Kanto now that I've upgraded everyone a bit. Levels are still the same, but now I have my Togekiss and moves the team didn't have going into the Elite Four ready to go.

Got done with the Pokemon League and moved on to Kanto and knocked out the first two Kanto Gyms I first seen. Good God I almost fucked when going against Lance and THOSE DAMN DRAGONITES!!!!DX!...but I made through alive on my first try! Typholsion and Lugia KICKED ASS!!!... sad part that I almost ended up using all my secret items such as Elixers and Max Revives-(in which I'm all out of..)i found in caves and etc..
I loved the Hall of Fame in which was kinda cool and the credits.
So far I only lost one battle in this game because yesterday I was fighting that tree Pokemon Suwoodoo and just weakening it... because I wanted to catch it. =)
I'm starting to get a little frustrated with limit of the attacks my Pokemon have because its getting that damn short in battle, but they're very powerful and worth it taking out your enemies.
Those Dragonites were definitely the hardest part of Lance's fight for me. The lvl 49's are in fact FASTER than the lvl 50 one, which threw me off a lot because my Jynx was somewhere between them as far as speed and couldn't outmaneuver the 49s. Didn't hurt either that I often ran into moments where my pokemon would either flinch or miss when I needed them to pull through the most, which is why it took me so long to finally beat him.

gyarados's ice fang. mine could outspeed them so hollaaaaa

I finally beat Falkner last night. I tried using the Gastly Spite method, but he killed it too fast, so then I sent out my Totodile and just had him use leer until he died, then sent out my Pidgey. My Pidgey's quick attack (thanks to Totodile's leer) did over half his HP, and he luckily didn't use Roost :D
