Just burn the files to a CD-R, then stick the CD-R into a Philips DVP642. Note that I haven't tried this myself yet, but the Speed Run videos are DivX-certified files, so they should play with no problem in this DVD player.

If only I hadn't just bought a new DVD player ... *groan* Someone, buy this awesome unit and post about your experiences with it here.

(Of course, the quality you would get doing it this way will not equal the quality you can get buying the original runs on DVD, since the DivX files are compressed and processed to be played on computer screens.)

You could put DragonDarch's SS 1% run on and convince some really stupid people that you're awesome at Fusion.  That would own.

LOL!! Y'know, I might just try that with some people I know around here... I'd just have to get my friend to lend me his 'Cube and GBPlayer. :P
I have a denver-DVD 188 DivX, and as the name says, it's capable of playing DivX movies. Haven't tried with any speed run video, though.

I could probably also burn it to a dvd-r so the whole full quality version would fit. ^_^
I did something similar by burning Kip's 22% Prime run on Video CD.  The quality is not great (as I found when I switched to the actual game) but it is acceptable.  I fit the run on 3 VCDs, but I don't actually know how much each one holds.  Note that VCDs are NOT the same as CDs with video files on them.  You must have a special program like Roxio Toast to burn them.  Also, not all DVD players play them either.  It probably will support them, but no guarantees.

Also, to play VCDs on your computer, you need a program called VLC (VideoLAN Client) which is free and can be found at www.videolan.org.
.. or open the huge file in the movie dir with media player  Rolling Eyes

SVCD has better quality than VCD (know that from my own experience)
Here's some of the other DivX certified DVD players, if anyone's interested.

Well, of course Super VCD is better than VCD. SVCD does take a lot, and I mean a lot, of more space per second/minute.

I found this when I tried SVCDs instead. (Roxio Toast Titanium tells you how much can fit on a CD or DVD) The run would've taken about 5 SVCDs instead of 3 VCDs and at that time, I had about 6 left on the spindle and only 3 cases left.
Could you just burn them to blank DVD's?

::looks at his nifty DVD burner:: I know you could fit quite a few runs on those things.
er ... yeah. if your dvd player supports divx, anyway.
My lil bro has that dvd player!!!!!!!
Yay!
