there is really a fat noisy piston, right? there is a fat blue spot on the opposite wall, right?
in my PAL version, the room has no blue spots and no pistons at all.
check out for other version differences^^

On NTSC you're just supposed to jump across and time it so you don't hit the piston and fall into the terminal fall.

i think that the blue plate is just spinning while the piston is in action, but im not sure.
