PAL version first impressions

those NTSC bastards have been ruling this forum for the past couple of weeks, now its time for us lowly Europeans/Aussies to have our say :D

i should be at home with my shiny new copy of mp2e in less than 4 hours :P

hmmmm... not all that impressed with it so far tbh (about 45 minutes in)
the new scan mode is just plain ugly, and they seem to have fudged up the enemy lock on (makes the first boss pretty tricky :x )
graphics are nice however, the game world seems to be packed full of a lot more detail

Heheh... well, if I'm lucky I'll get mine in about an hour.

Then again, I'm usually very unlucky. :(

Edit: Nope. I went to three different stores today, and none of them had it. How silly of me to think I could get a game on release day.

Enemies can break your lock-on, but it rarely happens, at least not where I'm at in the game (2/3 through).

And tman, you'll get used to the new Scan Visor. I hated it at first, but now I actually prefer it over the old one.

I have it^^
And I hmmm... love it but not as much as Prime1. My first Impressions were not as like in Prime1. I kinda just played through it, but it felt scary, these first Parts, with the Zombies etc.

But I really like it, I'm now a bit further after you loose everything. It's in my opinion questionable that when I scan 2 Marine Scans my Scan % enlarges up 2, but when I scan my ship or Individuals, it does not high up.

I was slightly dissapointed in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. It's basically the same thing as the previous one but with different names, and floaty chozo-wannabes that knows your name without asking :|

I'd imagine that a PAL copy won't run in an American GC, what with region codes and such, right?

you could get a freeloader disc...
but as far as i know, they're better suited to playing ntsc games on a pal Gamecube.

Yeah... I was expecting a no to that, but I wanted to check. Where there any significant changes in Echoes, like how Prime added the missile max, and stripped a few of the SB tricks?

i think its pretty much the excact same...
there was only a gap of 2 weeks between releases this time round.

Probably about as popular as anywhere else. It's not like I live on Mars or anything like that. The store that had it just didn't get enough copies so it sold out. I guess they underestimated this particular game's popularity. Half-Life 2 never sold out anywhere as there were PLENTY of copies for everyone.

Luckily, I didn't get a Player's Choice of this game like I did with Prime1 :) This is amazing. More of the same yes but why fix something that ain't broke?

@ Sam: It's okay, one breath at a time, easy now, breath in, breath out. Only 4 days now.

@ Alec: They changed a lot in the Europe/Australia/Japan/Players Choice version from the initial US release of Prime 1 :p I'm sure they'll probably end up changing some things for Prime 2.
