there's no reason to donate - they've already reached their funding. like i said in another thread, it looks like a neat idea (though the console is underpowered as shit), and if it ends up getting a bunch of cool games i'll buy one. if not, oh well.
Their funding made me chuckle. They wanted a million in a month, and they got it in one day. Last I checked they were three days in with over four million.
I like the way that they've openly invited every geeky hacker to go nuts in modifying the machine, as well as the stuff that runs on it. You know some super nerds are gonna have it homebrewed up the wazoo.
I don't mind low specs. I consider it a console for refined oldschool-gaming. Compared to snes there are worlds in between. I think there is a need for that because the jump to 3D came way to early back then. So there is still a big gap left to fill. And only using 2-3 watts leaves a certain economic beauty to that.
What is ugly though is the insecurity of the system.
yes there are. the best one in fact is on a modern console. imagine that.
can't fucking stand assholes who cling to the retarded notion that 8- and 16-bit games are inehrently vastly superior to anything else. no. they look like shit, they sound like shit, and often they control like shit. let's move on.
oh yeah poision have you played red faction: guerrilla? you would probably like it but i don't know if there's multiplayer or anything. just a really fun sandbox game where you can destroy literally everything.
fuck that, there's more than enough crappy 2d platformers to last anyone a lifetime
That's my saying, that is why we need to move on. 2D games are not limited just to crappy platforming. Can you imagine a sophisticated sidescroller-Metroid? I can.
But seriously, 2D-space has gaps to fill. I will do my best to contribute my part over the years but I cannot talk for others. Often 3D-games can learn a lot from refined 2D games. It doesn't all have to go to waste.
no, what you can't talk for is some game you've allegedly been making for the past several years. you don't get to compare your "game" to portal until you find a publisher and release it.
Whether or not with publisher support, it will come out. One of the best puzzle-games you will ever find, pushing your creativity to its limits. How do I know it? I understand systems.
Was just jokin since there are at least twice as man 2D platofrming type games coming out than FPS games.

I actually bought that on steam over a year ago, totally forgot I had it. I'll try it out.
I sent the tech-team of ouya a message how to improve the controller. I pointed out the importance of 2-in-one shoulder-buttons for more advanced controls. Both, Julie and Muffi, replied telling they like the idea and see what they can do. I am happy that they seem to get the message. I hope it will go somewhere.
