origin of the x

Where did the X originally come from?
They must of come from somewhere
I know they got onto one of those toad things than infected samus. But I think they came from some source.

Thread title is misleading, should be "Origin of the X" or something.

And they were native to SR388. They're why the Metroids were created.

I was thinking... Since there were metroids on tallon iv, couldn't there be X's in other planets?

If they follow the same method that the BSL had where they took an X infect to their planet/station.

But also remember that they had Metroids on Tallon IV for one of 2 reasons:
1) Chozo lived there... they made Metroids
2) Space Pirates crashed/researched there, and they were experimenting with Metroids.

i think #2 is a lot more feasible. the chozo were already extinct decades ago and if they had Metroids around, they would be all over the place. they're only in a few places.

and yeah, the X are from SR388. what we don't know is why they showed up when they did since the planet seemed normal until they suddendly popped up and the chozo made the Metroids to keep them in check.

first, the chozo are not extinct, they just disspeared, no one know what happened...

second, the X don't sundelly popped up on sr388, metroid predate them, so when samus got there to clean up the house, they overran the planet.

I think he meant 'predate' as in they are predators of the X, not in a chronological sense.

they're extinct until one of them shows up again. would you say (insert extinct animal here) isn't extinct and just disappeared?

and, so far there hasn't been an explanation about where the X come from. they popped up from some cave one day in SR388, started eating the native animals and the chozo made and deployed Metroids to stop them. maybe these things are like the "Las Plagas" from RE4 which popped up when some miners dug them up and the X were dug from the cave but, until we get an explanation from a game, there's no official origin for the X outside popping up one day on SR388.

The univers is mostly vast, unexplored territory so there's no reason to assume the the chozo are extinct. the earth however is mostly been explored and if an animal is "missing" it's much more feasible to assume they are extinct although not in all cases.

I belive some animals have been recently discovered which were thought to have long been extinct.
