if you don't beleave me use viualboy advance with the metroid fusion rom and use the tile viewer durring the battle with the omage metroid.the tiles should be on the first layer ( no not the backgorund layers ) BTW the beta is the text on the bottem of the image, also has a strange cat yelling at a bird to the top right of the image .

includes a savestate :D

Very interesting..!

This is pretty weird. When the Omega Metroid killed the SA-X, you were probably supposed to get the Ice Beam back and not everything else. I actually would've liked that better. And the cat thing is weird, too.

I found some kind of nest in the reactor core,i highlighted it with a red box.

once GameFAQs, now Twitch
The cat looks like Sony's Japanese mascot thing, Toro.
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
I think that this one looks much more cool. Razz

another discovery! look to the right of the samus status picture and read all the items,i'm prety sure you didn't get the power suit at the end of the game.

EDIT!!!!:the power icon thing is for power bomb,my mistake, but the M-tank thing i'm wondering about....
You sure that's not 'Power Beam'?

or 'bean' heh heh

ether way you never get the power suit or the power beam to appear in your inventory.
and speaking of power beam this pic here:

look for power beams sprite, now see the larger one,if you look in a tile viewer the charged power beam is always to the right of the normal beam, this could mean that the larger beam to the right was the original beta charge beam!

Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
Isn't it just a charged shot with your regular beam?

EDIT: I've checked, and it definitely looks different.
Disguzting homosapienz!...
Wow that beta charge beam looks cool!
looks Better than the final version of the charge beam IMO

apparently there is a language select in metroid fusion...
it might be reactivated with some hacking....you can change the language with this code: 3000011 XX :,so this feature has just been turned off, like the item toggle in metroid zeromission.

attachment:
it's likely that those are for other versions of the game sold in different countries.

This: is from the PAL version of fusion, now to explain my idea in full.what i believe is that like in the pal version fusion there was more than one option at the title screen;shown by this pic: however this was not used in the ntsc version. So what i am trying to say is that the "language" text having both a in-front and a behind color/size could mean that this menu option is still active some where inside the rom.Also... take a close look between the NTSC and PAL text, the second group of English text is where the gallery is in the PAL version, meaning this option may have been deleted entirely from the game, but this could also mean that the gallery can be re-enabled just like the language select option.Hint-hint-nudge-nudge to all you expert rom hackers out there laugh new. Also there is extra copyright information pointing to 2002-2003 instead of just 2002,but thats more and likely nothing important.

NTSC on left,PAL on right.

the japanese version was released in 2003, so they had time to implement stuff like the gallery and hard mode.

darn i forgot about that, the gallery is defiantly not in the NTSC version than.but that still does not stop the launguage switch from being there, could there be a debug trigger?
someone was being defiant to leave the gallery out of that version?

ack! sorry typo.
Time bomb set get out fast!
These are some seriously kickass finds.  Keep looking, guys!

For my part, I can point out something about bydolord's most recent pic.  Look to the right of this beta charge beam (if I've located it correctly) to the stuff in a white box.  Those aren't random scribbles -- they're very low-res katakana, which is the Japanese alphabet used for writing foreign words and loanwords.  It reads "KAUNTA SHYOTTO".  Shot counter!  Apparently that section of the HUD was going to be labelled at one point.

Neat.
But what would be the shot counter?
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
Presumable a counter that simply tracks the total numberof times you've pressed the fire button, or fired a particular type, such as missiles or beams.
Time bomb set get out fast!
Nah, you're thinking too hard.  What's directly above the white box?  Samus's missile and power bomb counts.  The label was probably meant to go underneath them.  (English words like "shot" are used with a certain... flexibility in Japan.)  It would've cluttered up the HUD, so they thought better of it.

By the way, where exactly is that tilesheet from?  Visually, it reminds me of the famous Fusion beta screenshots, where the game had a dark and creepy atmosphere a la Metroid II.

Yeah, those looked nice. I would've liked those better, and also the energy bar seemed pretty cool.
