<strike>I saw it somewhere. I'm sorry, I have no link. But I'm 80% certain Nintendo said that there isn't enough time to make it.</strike> The game was delayed to add wifi sometime after this post. A fair bit, I think.

P.S. First ever post! W00t!

You are indeed correct.  http://ds.ign.com/articles/616/616902p1.html

IGN: With multiplayer being Metroid Prime Hunter's focus, and Nintendo's stance on going online with its Nintendo DS software, what can you tell us about the possibility of this game going online?

Kensuke Tanabe: Unfortunately, the game won't support the multiplayer internet function of the Nintendo DS. To do it, it's not that easy and we'd have to build the infrastructure for it to work properly. The timing of the game release and the building of the infrastructure just didn't match. So while it won't be online, multiplayer will still be very very fun.
I('d) like to watch (some MP3 runs)
Wow, now it's been converted to 20-minute minigame status.
everybody knows it's true
That's... that's just....  Evil or Very Mad  Evil or Very Mad  Evil or Very Mad  Evil or Very Mad  Evil or Very Mad  Evil or Very Mad  Evil or Very Mad  Evil or Very Mad

I personally want to kick Nintendo in the rear with a spiked adamanite boot
SAME  Evil or Very Mad  It'd be cool if we did cuz all mebers could have a M2K2 tag then there user name and all the pros could play! Like kip vs Scarlet or something and speed runner fight  would be cool.
BUT TOO BAD IT AINT GOING TO HAPPEN!!!! Evil or Very Mad

Edit: Lol you can say my sig is pointing towards nintendo but it wasn't meant to be only just in this case...
I don't care much for online so I don't care much for that.

And well interesting signature.

Well, Nintendo DID create Adam.
I run this here hotel of an evening
do you think they'll make one online in the future? they need to, because if they don't... *begins rambling about kicking Nintendo with spiked adamanite boots, and other random assorted things*

Someone'll probably make a wireless card driver to make the DS think it's linking up locally with other people on the net.  If they've managed to get an E3 wireless demo driver I don't doubt their ability to do this.
Okay, all hope in a fully online Metroid game is gone for me.

Petition, anyone? Laughing

Lol, I didn't even know it was going to be online. Shows how much I pay attention to DS games. Rolling Eyes

Internet petitions suck ass.
or do they?
PAGE BREAKER
Ready and willing.
I still maintain that it didn't really matter seeing as how it's not like they needed a petition to realize people didn't like the idea. They just did that so they could get the sob story.
Why does Nintendo insist on not making online games? It just annoys everyone! What do they hope to gain from depriving the people of what they want?
damn that sucks

I don't even know if the majority of primarily Nintendo players even want online play. Maybe so, but I sure don't.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
I've asked this before but, what is this obsession with playing games online? I've played some online multiplayer games and can't see what's so great about it.

1. Opponents adapt, learn, and are always different.  No AI glitches to exploit, and patterns don't work.

2. Skills generally get much higher when playing against humans, because they learn and adapt.  You can also test your skill against other people.

3. You can play and have a laugh at the same time, without squeezing 4 people round a TV.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
I agree with the first two, but for the third I see your point, but I never got many laughs from online multiplayer, mainly because of the often idotic things popping up in the chat, but then when I play multiplayer I prefer to play against people I know, it's a  holdover from when online multiplayer didn't exist...

You find people on the net or something like that and play with them for laughs.  Find a decent clan or something like that.  If Hunters was online, we could've made a clan from here.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
That's a good point, online multiplayer still isn't a real priority for me,  but now I at least have an idea why people like it, I guess when you have two sisters that only play sporadicly, you get used to going for a game with good single player and multi player takes a back seat.
just trust me, multiplayer, when done right, rules.

mainly when you have trh on your team, that's when things really take off, imho.

Well, yeah, having the experience of watching him play is the meaning of life.

That's exactly how I feel.
