first hack i ever play and god its awesome xd

good thing i watched EVERY video on this site and know how to do mosts of the tricks xd

but, curse the bomb jumpings xd
It was my pleasure, especially towards the end.  The exploring bit really just wasn't my cup of tea, what can I say?

One of the better hacks i've played though, and again the ending sequence was epic, loved it.  The levels looked great and original too, the only thing, though; Sky Temple was a bit too green for my taste.

This was a fun hack!

Yeah, I can see how people may not like that color choice too much (although I was aiming to make it a little bit similar to a certain Castlevania area that also uses a lot of green - just in a different way). However, the option of making the blocks gold as well would leave everything looking, well, too gold (I tested it during development). So I opted for some 'light refraction trick of the eye' explanation for the color for the blocks.

Just as a hint to save yourself any more problems with bomb jumping if you don't want to be doing it - as I mentioned in the opening post, it isn't ever required in this hack. There's always another way to progress besides the bomb jumping route, although it may require a lot more exploration and for some people, taking the bomb jumping route may be quicker or easier.

Wait, does the
Crocomire fight actually lead to anything? Or do I need Power Bombs first? (jeez, horizontal bomb jumping is tough)
Anywhere, everywhere
Any clue where to go after morph and missiles?

Btw the area with the missiles was pretty cool.

I'm in
Eternal Hall, kinda sequence broke to get there, and have morph, missiles, supers, ice, varia, and grapple.
Is there A) anything to do there yet, B) a good place for me to go next, and C) any way you might tell me how you got the etecoons to act like flutes?

Well the
Crocomire fight gave you an e-tank and the Ice beam,
isn't that enough?  laugh new

Well, go through the red missile door to the left of the first missile pack, then up the shaft, midair morph into the little hole in the right side of the wall at the top, then keep going right from there. Basically every obstacle you encounter can be gotten past until you reach the bombs. Most of them involve pushing against a suspicious block formation into an invisible passage.

The ice beam is basically all thats required to get in there normally besides the base items. So you're on track. Just keep going through the EH until you get to the top.

As for C, I have no sure idea of why their tone changed. If you listen to the noise they make in the normal game it actually is similar to that theme, but the emu is interpreting it using a different instrument here for some reason. I didn't even move that room to a different area (EH was transformed out of Brinstar). If I had, it'd make a bit more sense as to why they changed their sound. Anyway, the first time I walked into that room during testing, I heard exactly what you hear in the game now and I said "wow I have no idea why that happened but thats cool, I'm keeping that." You may also notice that sometimes in hacks Mochtroids and Metroids make different sounds than they do in the original. Both of these are probably caused by the same thing; I just have no idea what it is.
My guess is that it has something to do with the room headers, the Etecoons do not belong in a norfair room from the game's point of view.  Again its just a guess, but it does sound alright so no big.

The thing that bothers me though, is how metroids and mochtroids in hacks always sound like glass breaking.  It can be obnoxious at times and to be honest, the first time I heard it in a hack it made me jump out of my seat (because i've never heard that noise before)
Yeah but as I said, the header for that room hasn't been changed. It's still in Brinstar. The Underworld is Norfair. That's what's so odd about the soundchange. Nothing that drastic was changed about that room besides the graphic set.

Also, I forget if the Tourian Metroids in Dependence still sounded normal. For some reason I think so, but the ones in PT sounded odd. The Mochtroids sounded bad everywhere though.

And on a completely unrelated note, here's a vid of a Crocomire fight in GD that's been posted elsewhere as well:

Were supers my key item in Lower Underworld? I have the feeling I've missed something, I'm back from down there in the Dark Gardens with 3 super packs.  :|

Yup, Supers were the key item in Lower Underworld.  You should now look around for green doors you can open/SM blocks you can shoot out with your new weapon.

Wow, I had tried that but the 3rd wall was impossible to get past. I try it after you say that and bam! got through. It's like magic or something...
Currently attempting a semi-low% run (I grabbed some extra missiles, charge, and one extra super tank).

Right now, I'm saved at my ship with 3 etanks, 21 missiles, 10 supers, 5PBs, charge, Varia, grapple, morph ball, bombs, speedbooster, and space jump.

Hoping I'll be able to glitch past the blue gate up ahead.
Hm, you mean the reverse blue gate that's a few rooms before Mother Brain? Not sure if it's possible to glitch past that gate but it may be. I never tried to do it for that gate, although I know two of them in Dependence can be glitched past.

That actually seemed to happen a lot for people in Dependence too  laugh new
Stuffs. Yar.
Hey. So far, I'm throughly enjoying this hack. Never before have I felt so excited for picking up a pack of missiles. :P Anyway, I'm kinda stuck...
I beat Crocomire, have the Ice beam, and don't know where to go now. I've explored around, but only seem to find loops, water-filled rooms, and powerbomb doors.

If anyone could help, I'd really appreciate it.
To the east of where you fought Crocomire, there's a passage that'll take you down an elevator and back to where you got the super missiles. Go up through the lava rise room near there again and this time take the upper path in the walljump room after that lavarise room. From there, you're in a part of the Dark Gardens that will allow you to access a new area.

Wait, just so we're clear:

I got to Eternal Hall, but I had to do some really nasty horizontal bomb jumping to get through an upward-leading door in Dark Gardens. It doesn't seem like there's anything to do in EH except wish you had power bombs (although I did see that elevator). I get the feeling I need speed booster. Did I miss it, and if so, where is it?
Speed booster is
in another area that you can reach by getting to the top of the Eternal Hall.

I'm not sure which passage in the EH you're missing, but with the items you have you should be able to get to the top of it and fight a certain boss to progress on further.
Well, I made it to MB with the equipment I listed above.  And unless rios, skrees, the flying green platforms, or giant sidehoppers drop supers in this hack, two tanks of supers are necessary.

Also, I'm very mad at myself and stopping for the night, because I accidentaly savestated during the MB fight with 279 health.
According to my investigation into the Item Drop function in the Enemy DNA portion of SMILE, the giant green hoppers, and the giant regular ones will drop supers, but only at medium priority. Rios will drop supers at a stupidly low rate, so it's probably not even worth mentioning. The others won't drop supers.
Okay.  In that case, minimum missile/super requirements are either 15/5 or 10/10 (5/15 being impossible due to the bob tank in Eternal Hall).
Okay so, I would need help on where to go after I got the:
High Jump Boots

I tried at the right door near the ship but through some horrible crumble block jumping, I only ended getting a
missile pack

And I've also gone through an insane acid rising room in theunderworld but I think I'm in the wrong place anyway. Any single hint would help, thanks!

Great hack by the way, been a while since I've seen one this well constructed!

You need the Spring Ball which is found in Tetra Ruins
If you're good enough, you can get through that part of the Underworld without
the springball/Gravity suit. But it can be pretty difficult without Gravity, especially in the lavarise room. Unless you're already savestated down there and don't want to backtrack, I'd suggest heading for Tetra like EP suggested. There's a new area you can reach with the high jump boots in the upper part of Tetra that you've been through before.
