I guess its a good thing I have found other things to do besides play SM hacks, because no new hack will ever be playable for me.

Instead of saying that you should just try playing the hacks. Taking a challenge outside your comfort zone will make you better much faster. And don't be afraid to use save states if you need to.
Metroid Exp: Exploration - Great, Skills - Decent
Back when I had better reflexes, sure, I would have had no problem doing things like mockball, but that was a while back.

Learning to mockball is much like learning to ride a bike.  I quit super metroid for 2 years at one point and came back, I could mockball just fine  Wink

I'm stuck already... I am in green Brinstar with bombs and rockets and do not where I should go next.
^^^Rockets, lol.  Good luck on this hack.

Well, first green or second green? If its first green, then you need to head to pink, there is a hidden block that you can bomb/shoot. If its second green, then theres no real way to get stuck. Just keep moving on.

Nice hack so far, I really like it. I've just beaten Kraid and Oh my god he was no doubt the most annoying boss that I have ever encountered, not really hard since nothing he does damages you much and you can farm energyballs from his claws but he just took so long to kill.
Wtf is up with gauntlet?  It seems as though its impossible to proceed.

He was quite the pain to test as well. It started off with only a couple of the blocks being crumbly, but it made more sense that when Kraid shook the room from getting up, some crumbled permanently, and some stayed around to crumble later. He doesn't take too long when you enter his room with 40 missles (I think the max at that time without SBs).

Well, it ain't referred to as the gauntlet for nothing. There is a way, just be creative and search high and low. Also, unless you have the gravity suit, you're not even close to being ready for the gauntlet.

Edit: While playing through the game casually, I seem to have collected 101%. Thought I'd let you know that the 100% totals are actually 235 50 50. How I missed that missle through all three test runs is beyond me, but I'll leave it there as its kinda hard to get to.

;) a Rocket and a missile is the same object for me.

btw. found the way ;) I only shooted to the ceiling, not to the floor.
Are you supposed to have any energy tanks BEFORE you try the heated rooms? I have none.

I am Post Super Missiles.

The first energytank is in the room, where you normaly find the first Energy tank in SM Classic. It is hidden in one of the mushrooms
After playing Impossible, this hack is a little too nonlinear for me. I guess I'll just work on my project
I decided to give this a brief whim too. So far I would not rate this the same as Gravy, but we shall see.... Unfortunately I don´t have much time to play so this will take a while.

Was I supposed to take the speed booster without any e-tanks? No? Well, I did.... :-)
Now having some trouble getting back.
Wow. There are a max 2 Etanks before the heated rooms. I didn't think that they would be too hard to find. One of them is in the mushroom room, and another is in the room right before supers. Then, after all is said and done with the heated rooms, you should have 4 Etanks (the two in heated rooms are nearly unavoidable.

Lance, how'd you manage to get to the speedbooster with no Etanks? Pause abuse? With only one Etank, its quite possible if you don't make mistakes, but with no Etanks... thats rough.

I guess I should say that most item counts of the early rooms stayed the same, the item may have changed, but if you don't see a door that wasn't there before, then the item count should be the same. I think I'll attach two bitmaps that show the Etanks locations, simply because they're kind of necessary. I didn't mean any of you to lose your mind trying heated rooms with only 99 energy.

The red circle is where the Etank is, the green line represents air tiles. Hopefully I won't have to reveal anything else, but the heated run is one of the harder parts of the game, so it shouldn't be too bad.

Almost happy
I had 1 E-tank when entering the first heated room, and I think it is possible to have 2, although one of them can't be gotten past a certain point (to my annoyance)

I got the first E-tank in
Pre old Hi-jump room
Almost happy
The bad part is that it is so easy to miss the E-tank in the diagonal room since you have no thought on needing extra E-tanks at that point, and as soon as you head to Red brinstar you can't get in anymore. (until later) Getting through to Speedbooster with one E-tank was kind of hard, I can't imagine the trouble to get there with 0.
Well it really was no big trouble, I have good set-up for my buttons so I am able to use save states quite effectively.

Card you say two e-tanks are almost unavoidable in the heated rooms? Apparently I missed one, because I got my first one  from
past speed booster

This is getting kinda absurd  :D
The Operation Was Completed Successfully

This was a good hack.  However, it got a bit annoying at the end because

Bosses should not have max health and be vulnerable only to your beam.  What if they don't grab spazer?  Those fights took me forever.  Luckily you left an open door in Draygon's room so I could grab plasma and own him

There are also a couple places that you can get indefinitely stuck, and if you have used a savestate there, your screwed.  I can't remember these offhand, but if you want me to look back into it I can.

The boss battles were definitely challenging.  This is like a mini-impossible.  I especially liked the speed booster puzzles, and the mock/speedballing.

I got most of the items apart from a few that I know of, and here's why:

-The Zebes shaft supers, this room is impossible to enter.  Thoughts?
-If you can manage to get the supers in the wrecked ship, under the robots, its impossible to get out.  Nice one.
-Theres no way to get into the room on the right, in the top room of the WS.

I don't know if these were intentional or not, but either way i thought it was pretty lame.  But good hack nonetheless.

Thats one of the ones I was talking about.

The other is strategically placed on your way out of Norfair, so that if you had 2 Etanks on your way out (here I left some leeway) you would get the Etank right around the time you'd hit 10 energy left.

Well,
the open door in Draygon's room is the solution to him.

Also for Ridley, even though you didn't mention him
his weakness makes sense if you really think about it.

None of the bosses have max hp, and all of them after Kraid have a special weakness ('cept MB and GT).

I'd definitely like you to look back and inform me of places you can get stuck. If you're talking about places with grapple blocks near, theres really no way to prevent that, grapple blocks are deadly. laugh new

All three of the items you mentioned are possible to get, and the second one is escapeable.

1.You'll have to find the way to the zebe shaft supers, I'm not telling yet.
2.Those robots are vulnerable to the ice/spazer combination
3.That room at the top right is possible to enter, the entrance is just difficult. In fact, the item in that room is the last percent that I missed during testing (the 101th %)

I'm glad you did like the hack, but you really shouldn't assume that I messed up. You gotta try everything.
Ah, in that case, sorry.  I've just seen too many messups to not assume  Wink

Anyway, good job.  There were a lot of difficult (yet rewarding) puzzles to figure out.

As for the grapple blocks being deadly,

Why on earth did you use so many of them :P They made for an interesting way to get space jump, though...

P.S.  Evil PB #66 remains evil.  But now they have an evil twin known as the landing site PB's

Out of Norfair as in upper route or bottom route? I have already confused myself going to a lot of places that seem like dead ends. I am in the bubble room now, which way should I exit?

Upper.

Edit:  Made it through Gauntlet.  *Facepalm* that was simple...
Edit2:  Got into the wrecked ship room.  On a side note: did anyone else know that you can "kill" the electric surges in the WS with screw attack?  Hahaha.  I thought that was pretty funny.

Definitely the upper route AKA the route to the bubble room in original SM. The lower route would be a long trip, involving heading through lava and many a heated room only to get stuck at a green gate.

I promise that once the heated rooms are over, progress will be smoother.

Pretty awesome.

Quick question, how'd you beat the game without making it through the gauntlet?
the door leading to Tourian is enemy based, and you have to kill the two beetoms at the top of the room in order for the door to open. The only way to access the beetoms is to make it through the gauntlet...
Has the item layout changed at all? I am stuck in a big pink brinstar room. (beforespore spawn) I've got to get used to nonlinearity...
