What is the best way to get to the reserve tank room in the bubble room without grapple, SJ or Ice Beam?
I tried this:
(sorry for the ASCII art; I couldn't get a good screenshot)
(the O is the orange plant thing; W is where to wall jump; the `s are empty space; S is where to start)

Code:
|\
||
|/____``````->O_____
......./`````\`\
....../```````-W\
.....|````````|`|
.....|````````\`\
.....|```````---W\
---\````----/
....|S---/
---/S
; but I don't think I could cross over to the door.
Thread title:
I don't know whether the SJ means space jumping or super jumping, but other than those three, super jumping is the best way, followed by bomb jumping and then wall jumping.

He's 99% probably talking about Space Jump.... he listed it with the items (and the Super Jump itself is not an item), and the only people who really call it a Super Jump nowadays are the ones who are only interested in Super.
Embarrasing Fact: Power suit made by lowest bidder
If you have high jump boots, you can wall jump up the left wall without too much difficulty. You need fairly precise positioning, but a few practice jumps can get there pretty quickly.

If you don't have high jump boots, you can still do it... it's just much, MUCH harder. You need nearly *exact* positioning and probably *perfectly* exact timing (you need to wall jump as far away from the wall as possible), but it can be done.
What's most annoying is that there will be some jumps where you can do it, and some jumps where it's just impossible to do it. What I mean is, the positioning is so exact that you can fall from too high in one frame, to too low in the next frame. And there's no way I know of to make sure that you'll line up; You're too low to be able to use a single jump from the ground, and hitting the head on the ceiling won't line you up.
Chances are, bomb jumping would be *much* faster and easier than trying to wall jump up the wall without high jump boots, even if you're a master wall jumper but a novice bomb jumper.
i prefer to freeze one of those stupid flying things that hop around the room and use them as a platform.

but thats just me and usually you gotta do it as soon as you enter the room, it isnt that fast and might take some tries so its bad in a speed run.

If all else fails, learn to bomb jump.
Time bomb set get out fast!
Or to mockball, so you can get the Ice Beam before Speed Booster and thus have it available in the bubble room.  I'm guessing what Skreemaster wants to do is get that Reserve Tank before the Phantoon fight, but without making more than one trip to the bubble room.  That's exactly what I'm doing in my current run, in fact.
Those are some oddly specific requirements.
Time bomb set get out fast!
Not really.  In a pure speed run, I have more trouble with Phantoon than any other boss due to how few Energy Tanks I have at that point.  Thus, having a second Reserve Tank is a big help.  And the trip from the main shaft to the bubble room is time-consuming, so if I can avoid taking it more than once, I'm better off.  Those considerations are enough to determine my route: mockball to get the Ice Beam, then go to the bubble room and get the Reserve Tank, the Speed Booster, and the Wave Beam all in one stop.  But if you can't do a mockball, you can't get the Ice Beam first, and that leaves you in Skreemaster's position.

Of course, I may be wrong about why Skreemaster set those requirements.  But I don't think so.  It fits perfectly.
