Hmm, who made all those games, as well as other TG-16 games of note? Lots of articles mentioned that the list as a whole includes games from "Nintendo, Sega, and Hudson".

Hudson developed all of those, and a lot more; they're basically first-party -- Hudson co-developed the console with NEC.

Huh, the Wikipedia article on Hudson indicates they also made a lot of games for Nintendo consoles... and several official Mario games for the PC-8801.  Shocked

Let's take bets on how long it will take before somebody manages to exploits this.
At launch (or as long after as it takes to ship), I suspect that there will be people inserting Japanese discs into their American and European Wii.

i'll do that when the japs get FZX expansion kit

Nintendo has the battle almost won in japan. why give them the best since they need the stronger launches outside japan? they'll always do odd stuff, no matter how good everything else looks.

I got a chance to play the Wii at a Nintendo World special event in New York yesterday. Everyone got like two minutes of Wii Tennis each. It was better than I expected; graphics looked nice, albeit simple (but they're supposed to be that way) and it ran quite smoothly. The controller was out of this world; I am looking forward to November nineteenth even more than ever now.

Now, this may seem like a bit of an overreaction if you're not from Australia. All retailers are, to some point, greedy. So why has Nintendo singled out Harvey Norman?

Because a year into the Gamecube's life, HN dropped it like a sack of hot potatoes. This would have affected sales because a lot of the non-tech-savvy consumers go to Harvey Norman because a sucker is born every minute. If Harvey Norman isn't selling the Gamecube anymore, the 'average' consumer reasons, then it can't be that good, right?

Now that the Wii has everyone and their grandparents wanting some hawt Wiimote akshun and the PS3 got delayed, Harvey Norman wants to sell this new system and make some money. The betrayal is still fresh, however.

Long story short, Harvey Norman is dicks. And Nintendo is Lorena Bobbitt.

Q: Hejira. was that whole post so you could make a "[Company] is dicks" joke?
A: Yes, yes it was.
cool. reminds me of apple and best buy. except that apple keeps forgiving them.

Genji: Days of the Blade? More like Flopi: Flops of the Flop

m i rite?
they praise the graphics ... i wonder if it's f1--and if it's f1, at what resolution it ceases to be f1.

Thumbs up to that last panel. The Wii launch titles really do suck, except for Zelda.

Haven't played Rayman, but I'm not really interested-- it's just minigames. Super Monkey Ball does look pretty neat; I think I'm getting that, along with Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam (plus Kingdom Hearts II and Tony Hawk's Project 8 for PS2), for Christmas.

hmmm. . . .directing this to all of the wii players.

I am curious, how sensitive the wiimote is, how accurate it is to use for things or any other things that you would tell someone about. seeing as I can't try one out(no console demos in my area) I need to ask somebody who knows what it's like to play the wii

the pointer can be really sensitive the first time you use it. small moves will be fine. you can adjust settings though iirc.
Yeah, I ran across the page where you can change the sensitivity when I was checking around the other day. Because I've only had about an hour of actual gameplay due to the unfortunate circumstances I mentioned in the "Who's Got a Wii?" topic, I can't really tell you much about how it feels in the games themselves. (Speaking of which, I still haven't heard back from Nintendo about my family's situation yet...)
Bananas GOOD, Kremlings BAD
Just changed my batteries on the Wii-remote for the first time.  I got a "Connection with remote lost" message, even though I was pointing straight at the screen.  I also had to replace the batteries for the second Wii-remote I bought.  The thing is, though, that I never really used the other one.

Anyone else have to replace the batteries, yet?

Yeah, after every 27 or so hours of use.
I still wish they would have made the batteries rechargable like the PS3, thats one thing I think Sony did right and Nintendo did wrong. Its so great not having to change batteries in my DS, like you had to with the original GBA. I don't see why they couldn't have used Lithium Ion batteries in the Wiimote, it might have made the remote more expensive, but after all the batteries you'll go through, it would be cheaper in the long run.
use rechargeable batteries.
