Even though the majority of people consider the Game Boy Advance to be a portable Snes, i wonder if Nintendo actually based the controls of the DS on the Snes. Because if you look carefully, the Snes has the d-pad, the a, b, x and y buttons, as well as the two shoulder buttons. Nintendo ditched the x and y buttons and replaced them with the yellow c-buttons. Then, Nintendo took back the x and y buttons, and converted the c-buttons into an analog stick to make a Game Cube controller. The gba has the d-pad the l and r buttons as well as the a and b buttons. When they made the DS, they added the x an y buttons. My guess is that when they make the gbe, they're probably going to add analog sticks.

Thats how i think that Nintendo partially created the DS controls(either that or it just occured to me as a coincidence!!)
everybody knows it's true
umm, WTCrap?
AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! I PRESSED THE SUBMIT BUTTON TOO MANY TIMES!!!! CURSE YOU MAUDITE DOWNLOAD SPEED!!!!!!!!!!!!
Could someone please delete two of those three accidental clicks.
Only if you edit out those idiotic exclamation points which are stretching out the posts.  Evil or Very Mad  Rolling Eyes  Though can't you delete your own extra posts?

And while we're at it, do you honestly think that the similarity between the SNES and DS buttons hasn't occurred to anyone else here?  Or that we don't know what the analog button does in the other thread?  Many of your posts suggest you think most of your audience is younger and/or more clueless than you, which does not appear to be the case.
One shall stand, one shall ball.

Not if someone posts afterwards, I believe.

Analog sticks? on a portable? Somehow I seriously doubt that.
They was talking about adding a analog stick for the DS.
Could you imagine an analog stick on something you're supposed to be able to put in your pocket?
Laptops have analog sticks... pretty bad ones at that. You ever use the eraser stick?

The "ersarer stick" is better than the "touch-pad that automatically does a left-click if you touch it".

Even thought I don't have one, I seriously want one.

You can turn off the left-click touch easily. You cannot turn off the "ersarer stick"'s suckiness at all.

What's an eraser stick? I wasn't aware that my laptop had one.

Anyway, I have this neat little contraption that you attach to a GBC, which contains a joystick that attaches to the D-Pad. It's pretty cool to be playing a Game Boy game with a joystick, rather than a D-Pad.
I don't like using an analog stick for a GBA game, it doesn't feel like I have as much control as I do with a d-pad.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
I think an analog stick could work well on some GBA games as several have the capacity for diagonal movement, but on older games where you can only move in the standard four directions the control can get crappy.

I mainly used it with the Oracle of Ages and Seasons games. Worked pretty well.

A small stick stuck between four keys near the bottom of your keyboard, directly over the touchpad. Those usually are green or red colored.
What luck, there's french fry stuck in my beard.

Well, back on-topic. The XBOX 2 is going to be namned "XBOX 360" and it will be showed up on MTV before E3. I don't remember the date, but the time will be 22:00 (10 PM, methinks), at least here in dear Sweden. This might be old news, but i heard of the name today, so i think it's new news (Ô_o).
Just the mention of MTV destroyed all credibility of that. Especially since you didn't cite any sources.
They actually went with 360? Makes me not like the X-box even more.

Could they be, in some wierd subtle way, trying to copy Nintendo's name? (the other meaning of "revolution") Probably not, but kinda wierd coincidence now that I think about it.

EDIT to starblade: They ARE going to reveal it on MTV you know.
Sources of doom:
GameFAQs
Penny arcade
Xbox.com
Dragonfangs, he means that the mere mention of MTV destroyed any sense of credibility that Microsoft would have with the X-Box 2. Though, I'd think that being developed by Microsoft already destroyed all sense of credibility...

No, I'm pretty sure he meant Snytbaggen's credibility. Otherwise he wouldn't have mentioned citing sources.

EDIT: Oh, and I love that last panel. ^_^
