    KEY INFORMATION
If you think you knew what it felt like to be the bounty hunter behind the visor, think again. Take aim at evil with Nintendo’s revolutionary controller.

    * Players control Samus by moving with the Nunchuk controller and aiming with the pointer, allowing for a level of immersion unlike anything they have ever experienced. Through the eyes of Samus, players experience a quantum leap in first-person control as they wield the Wii Remote controller, the ultimate device for the first-person shooter genre.

    * Samus will employ well-known power-ups like the Grapple Beam and Morph Ball, as well as a bunch of new surprises, to help her survive her coming trials.

Game storyline: Six months have passed since the events on the planet Aether. The Galactic Federation’s network computer, Aurora Unit, is suddenly and completely corrupted with something like a virus. The Federation believes Space Pirates may be behind the problem and, beginning with Samus, starts to contact bounty hunters. As they explain the situation to the assembled hunters, the Federation is attacked by the pirates. Samus and the other hunters leap to the defense of the Federation capital, only to find that the enemy the hunters face is the presumed-dead Dark Samus. Dark Samus is armed with immense power that no one can withstand. It soon becomes obvious that the forces controlling Dark Samus and the terror of the contaminated Phazon are a dire threat that could corrupt the entire universe.

Characters: Samus, Dark Samus, the Galactic Federation and new bounty hunters.

How to progress through the game: The war initiated by Dark Samus and the Space Pirates rages across many planets as they attempt to corrupt each with Phazon seeds. Players use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk™ controllers to explore alien landscapes, hunt for weapons and information, and destroy the seeds. Saving the planets from corruption isn’t enough, though. Eventually, players must take down Samus’ mortal enemy, Dark Samus.

Special powers/weapons/moves/features: Using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers, players will be able to grasp and pull things by using actual arm movements, as well as execute amazing feats like aiming and blasting in midair or at a full run. The game also incorporates a new system involving Phazon. If you fill Samus’ Phazon supply to a certain level, Samus will temporarily go into hyper mode, a state in which she can pull off incredible feats; on the flip side, if she exceeds the maximum Phazon level, she’ll perish. Also, for the first time in the Metroid series, Samus’ ship will be used in active game play.
Thread title:
I love the new logo, but the fact sheet is pretty much stating the same exact information as it always does. I don't really see anything new from that besides the fact that it says ONE player, and one player only. So does that mean there isn't going to be a multiplayer, or are they still trying to hide that mode until the very end?
Noticible differences from the previous images (and footage):
- the missile icon has changed
- the panel holding the minimap is shorter vertically
- the outermost radar decorations have changed
- further details on the top of the inside of the visor
- the hang-gliding pic shows a full black arm (the attract vids have a plain arm at that point)

Are these in widescreen?

Early reports suggest that today's stuff is embargoed until this Friday (May 25th) (EDIT: wrong Friday).  Tomorrow's event is for print media in preparation for E3.

I really doubt there will be a multiplayer; if there were, they'd be toting it around a lot. Plus, Echoze's multiplayer was a pretty big failure, and we already have Hunters, which is more well-suited for multiplayer than a console Metroid.
touting?

this managed to double my excitement for the game.

3 months will fly over fast hopefully...
lol no way
Wow! Still alive!

No but seriously folks, I just posted over at that Go Nintendo site cause I was like "This Fishguts kid is an idiot". Then I realized that I'm totally wrong and Skippy already pointed out the noticable differences here... which, uhm, I guess I should have read this short thread before immediately jumping over to that site and getting all involved there but look, I'm a working man and I've only got so much time so gimme a break.

p.s. I had previously had "look" in all caps, but then I remembered about that Andrew Mills kid and I'd be embarrassed if I had to share anything more than a first name with him. Teehee.

Edit: I still don't have a wii, btw, though I might get one someday. I also am not a working man, which is why I don't have a wii. Just thought I'd throw that in there.
good to see you man. hopefully you can help us when we get prime 3, no matter how much of a stinker it may be, haha.
lol no way
I will nate, I promise. I got like 500 dollars for graduation, and even though my parents really don't want me to spend it...

Uh.
I'll help out, don't worry about it.
k cool. long live omg invisible.
lol no way
Best thread title ever!
Nobody at Go Nintendo has replied to me, but I bet that's cause either A) I'm so cool, or B) it takes a while cause that's kind of an old article too.

What else would you do with graduation money? It's a gift for suffering through the last twelve years; I've already decided to put the entirety of mine toward Wii games.
lol no way
Ugh, I wouldn't feel comfortable spending that much money on one thing. I like to spread it out... unless it's like a car or something. In which case I can understand.
I agree. And that's why it's unlikely that I'm getting a Wii this year. Perhaps for christmas. I was fighting to find a Wii or a 360 before summer. Wiis were scarce, but I found a few really great offers. Sadly, someone else got to them before I did. So I went with a 360. Shortly after, we got a brand new shipment of Wii consoles. But, even though I could buy a Wii and a PS3 right now with my current economy, I feel it's a bit of a waste to spend that much all at once. So I'm waiting with the Wii.

It's better that way, too. The fewer games you have, the more attention you give each game, and you increase the potential lifetime and enjoyment you get out of them.
everybody knows it's true
My dad is buying my wii at the end of school for stright A's and attaining teh Eagle rank. MP3 comes out a day before my b-day. I got MP2 at christmas, a month after its release, so I couldn't discover anything new. Now, I'll manage to discover an exclusive secret world. :D

I'll probably find it during normal gameplay. >_>

That's exactly what happened to me with Metroid Prime 2. Found a standable spot on U-Mos (was that his name?) and got out the side.

The first SW in Corruption will likely be something dumb and obvious like that too.
I dont think it will be easy to glitch apart Corruption like Prime 2. Due to two reasons: new controller and hopefully most of the glitches have been covered by Retro.
red chamber dream
Well, the new controller (and new engine altogether) are why many of us think there will be a lot of bugs/glitches to exploit this time around. The reason Echoze was fairly more "secure" than Prime was that Retro was using the same engine again and had plenty of time to work out the bugs.
l'appel du vide
GameCube Mark II
Recall that a month ago we thought that we would be getting quite a bit of new info?  We did see screens with an updated HUD, but print media were the ones who had access to Corruption.

In Play Magazine, the first bit of that info is now available!  I very quickly skimmed the 2 page article.

- On the highest sensitivity, you need a steady hand or the screen will  move around a bit much.

- The game was given extra time to be polished like Twilight Princess.

- New images of new things in previously known locations.  Some are:
-- Samus strapped in a chair.
Which appears to be just before everyone is electricuted (corrupted?) in the attract video

-- A view of the back of Samus on the brown planet.  It looks just like what you see when you enter the first big room of a new area.  The grapple ride looks close by.
-- A tall and thin miniboss on the brown planet:  Mechanical <something>

Go take a look at the magazine, I know I missed a lot.  Hopefully there will be scans floating around soon!  BTW Corruption headlines September's Nintendo Power (which comes out about a month from now).

EDIT: Direct quotes via NeoGAF.  SPOILERS GALORE

"After the first planet showed off the rock-solid shooting controls, the second was a reminder that exploration remains the series' main focus. It featured a moody, eerily beautiful floating city that was rich in mysteries but light on combat - a great place to show off Corruption's upgraded graphics."

"One aspect of the game that had been removed from the demos is the "Hypermode" the becomes available to Samus after she finds a suit that allows her to exploit the corrupting power of Phazon."

Ready and willing.

Nice info, I hope we'll get some screenies soon.
And a much better release date. Also for Europe Crying or Very sad ...

NP is messed up... you get September's issue at the start of August and 4 copies of the August issue 5 months later.
