New Mother Brain trick, remeniscent of the others.

Discovered by "PIDB16", who contacted me over MSN. Pretty basic/obvious, but you wouldn't think of it, so good find!
Basically stand on her platform, shoot her in the eye with a super or enough normals to make her attack. Then just morph. I guess I never thought of it, I always assumed it'd hit you... but it doesn't, so that's pretty cool. It also works when combined with the other technique of getting a shot in before the eye beam is out fully, so as to get 1 extra super in before she fires. Actually super fast, since you're RIGHT THERE and the missiles explode when you press the button, so you can just tap it twice then morph again. Also way easier than the other way.

Shouldn't matter the version of VBA, as the video's like 6 seconds long. Anyway, mostly making this topic so I don't forget. Two other tricks of mine need to be put up too, but no rush, as they're "others". Glitch, and getting to the larvas without Wave. In case anyone cares. >_>

wow thats so much faster, its nice to see. Speed runs can definitely use that to speed up times a bit.

hi, when you're fighting mother brain, you can jump onto her platform. as a morph ball, you can dodge the eye beam. but the best part is you can still fire super missles at the eye as long as your gun is more than more than 1 pixel out of the eye.

after mother brain fires, you can fire super missiles at it by standing just barely enought to be on the platform. i've generally pulled of five super missiles per opening. ex:

the only thing to worry about is the ring turrets

Heh... that sure beats what I was doing. I was always being knocked off and dismembered by those fregan donuts so I would wait for "her" to shoot and let it hit me, then when I was flashing fro the attack I would press over and land on the platform ad shoot away not being affected my the buring rings of fire.

Actually, if I remember right AJ, Terrence Ferguson did that tactic in his 15% hard video like right after the rom came out.

I know for a fact that I've seen someone jump onto Mother Brain's "platform" and duck to have her eye blast go past Samus in a video a long time ago.

Okay, so heres the deal... I didn't know someone else already found this out, I just thought it was kinda cool, so I told AJ about it. I didn't copy anyone else or anything, and if you want, you can give the credit to the first person that found it, doesn't really matter to me.

When I first told AJ about it, I thought someone probably already figured it out, because of how long the game has been out, and he said he never heard of it before, so I just assumed nobody ever knew about it.

And also, I'm not the guy who posted about it before.

Oh and my brother didn't figure it out, I did.
