Aren't these just screens from the trailer(s)?

Sick people.
I think N64 graphics would be kick ass.

There's a difference between old and ugly graphics.
True dat. N64 had style, none of this photorealism bullshit!
Still don't get where the N64 tag came from. Look at games such as Majora's Mask, Banjo-Tooie, and Perfect Dark, three games late in the console's lifetime, and then compare those graphics to what we've seen so far. These graphics look more like the Cube's launch titles to me, and Luigi's Mansion still looks great to this day in my mind.

But without getting all technical about where they lie in the spectrum of things, I agree with the idea that old =/ ugly. Even with all of the newer enhancements and upgrades over the last decade, there is still a certain charm that those older graphics can have if they were done right.

One shall stand, one shall ball.
Hate to break it to you guys but 99% of the graphics from the 64/PSX era were fucking hideous.

Mostly. I think a couple were new. But screen shots are pretty stupid anyway so whatever.
Either way, Other M's graphics look better than that 99% to me, which is what I was trying to say in the end.
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
I'm not fussed, and don't consider myself a 'graphics whore' at all.

As long as a game looks passably good, I'd much rather have a fun game with a decent set of controls.

In retrospect, sure. But, during those days we actually all thought they looked fine. 15 years from now we'll all be laughing at how 'hideous' Crysis really looked.

@Quietus: Definitely true. It's all too much about visuals these days.
That's more or less where I was trying to go with my comments. Graphics can be important depending on what type of game it is, but as long as they fit into the mood the game is trying to display that's good enough for me. I mean, we still love sprites and 2D graphics, right? And in the end, if the gameplay is poor, what's the point of playing it?

That's what I ask myself every time I think 'Let's play Mirror's Edge!'.

But it's going on eBay this weekend
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
I got the game for £2.99, so I shouldn't complain. Very Happy

My biggest gripe with it is whenever you get to a part where you think you'd really like to explore, and test your abilities, people start shooting, and you have to rush...

mirror's edge fucking owns. just disarm the cops, silly.
Maybe I want the cops to fuck off and let me jump on shit!

Mirror's Edge was all about the art style, for me. But it wasn't enough for me to want to replay it.
Club 27 Goals

These seriously look like PSP graphics. Like, they would fit perfectly.
Making me want to buy the game, though I still need to beat Corruption on Hyper. So many tormenting pics, LOL. That game looks godly to me. :P
my umbrella goes directly to Bankai

sometimes i think people completely forgot how N64 games really looked.

also, those screencaps look rather bad quality themselves. even the best looking Wii game would look like shit with that kind of capture device.
