How do I use the snails for climbing? I don't understand.
Waaaaaaa i want insanity
When you look towards the snails they stop and you can land on them.
So get one on a wall and jump on to it and look towards it then turn around and jump "It should be moving up the wall"
then turn back towards it and it should stop and you can land on it.
Doesn't take long to perfect.
Thanks, and i'm stuck again. Room immediately after Botwoon. I can't roll through the upper tunnel because of the pit, and I can't squeeze past the barriers because of the lack of maneuverability.

The only thing I can think of is to drop into the sand.
Waaaaaaa i want insanity
nah pretty tricky took me a while.
you have to get sucked into the sand just enough so you can go under the barrier. Then there is a little trick you have to find.
if you want look at this.

there is a block up the top that you can jump through.
you have to walljump then morph into a ball then go through the top bit

I think haven't done it for a while.
I don't understand. I either need a detailed description, a video, or a diagram for this room. I can't get sucked into the sand and go high enough to roll under the barrier, and walljumping into the gap makes me morph even lower than simply jumping in. I don't even have Spring Ball yet; I never found the Grappling Beam.

Only thing that I should note is, v1.5 has a relatively major item location change to 1.4. I read that you sometimes wrote that you got items in locations where they don't exist anymore in 1.5. If you still use 1.4, I strongly recommend you and everybody else a update to the latest version.

That's because I strongly remember the first time I got those items as compared to when I got them just yesterday. Yes, I realise that the missile tank in the acid room before the first super missile is actually a super missile tank in v1.5. Wait, I'm not sure now if it is now a super missile or not. Argh, can't remember! Evil or Very Mad :(

I was just thinking back to the previous version I first got those items. Sorry. I have done v1.5. I'll re-edit that post to make it current to 1.5.

Sometimes I have a craptacular memory, and sometimes I have an insane memory. Also, I can have both at once. That insane memory is going for the previous versions adn the craptacular one for the newest version. grin new

Allrighty, I whipped this up for you, I hope it works. I just realized myself that pointing upwards makes it a lot easier  :)

Oh, and if you want to get that super missile....

Search the right side of that morph ball maze

Honestly, I'm kinda getting used to you posting stuff drunk.  laugh new

You know what I think?

Saturn should make Super Metroid Impossible 2. I loved this so much (best hack ever :) ) that SM:I 2 would be magnificent. DO IT!!
I totally agree with this. SM:I 2 would be just wonderful. The only problem is that it should be made very very different, meaning maybe new map layout and stuff like that. It would also be quite difficult to come up with more (different) challenges for players. The line between skill-hard and tedious-hard can be broken pretty easily.

For now I am just eager to see what kind of Super Glitchtroid ducknerd will make. :P
Hey, before i continue my search for the x-ray, I need some help with some Missile Packs.
I have every Super Missile Pack, I am just missing 8 (!!) Missile Packs..-_- how can this be? I know you dont know which ones i got and which not.. But please give me some hints.. Are there many Missile Packs in Lower Norfair and which Missile Packs are easy to miss?
Oh, I see you've moved onto this board, Foxhound, rather than staying at GameFAQs.

I'm OmegaSneaky from gamefaqs.
Well, I haven't exactly "moved" to this forum; I still have connections on Gfaqs, specifically with the Silent Hill series (I beat Silent Hill 3 50 times, and have done countless challenges on it, including a 53:02 speedrun on Hard/Hard). As far as Metroid goes, i'm more comfortable with this site; it's far less n00bified.

Lance, that smv works with Snes9x v1.51, right? That's the emulator that I play on.
Edit: Sorry for the double post; I'm on AOL and it does some really funky things at times.
I think you can delete your latest post in case of double posts if I remember right?

OMFG MINI MODING!!11  Exclamation
I don't know how. =(

Anyway, Lance, does that smv work with Snes9x v1.51? I only have that and ZSNES 1.36.

...Or do I need a specific codec or something to run it on Windows Media Player?

Edit: nevermind. I finally made it up into that hole...now to get that SM tank.
Oh sorry, I use the good old snes9x v1.43, I dont think those work in the 1.51..... Oh well....
100s of savestates later, Draygon is defeated. What an ASS! Grappling beam acquired. I can get so many more items now.

Now I just need help locating the Speed Booster. I'll try to get the Spring Ball while i'm here too, so I can get the Plasma Beam.

Edit: And i'm stuck again. Room before Draygon. I STINK at underwater walljumping.

Edit again: Got out with the grapple. Nevermind.

Meridia without the Gravity Suit is such a pain.

Speed Booster is in Norfair where it usually is, but you have to take the long way around to it (In the first unheated room after taking the hell route or whatever it's supposed to be called).  That means you'll be going through even more heated rooms.

Best to have at least 5 E-Tanks and 1 Reserve Tank for the trip.  6 E-Tanks would give you better chances of making it though.

There's an E-Tank in the Wrecked Ship you can opt to get at this time if you need it.  You'll need the Grapple Beam to get to it though.  Might need Space Jump as well, I can't be too sure.
Is there any way to get Space Jump without dying? I know where it is, but I don't know how to quickly kill the hornoads.
2 options here, the intended way and the unintended way.

Intended way:  Get the Plasma Beam.  The Hornoads can be killed with it.  Rolling into the room first would be best so you don't get any of them to latch onto you right away.

Unintended way:  Precise usage of Super Missiles.  Hornoads can be damaged by Supers as well, but to get the Space Jump and kill them all off to open the door, you need to follow a rather tough strategy.  Look back a few pages or so for an explanation on how to do it, but note that this is not how you're supposed to get it (Plus it is much tougher to pull off).
A couple of pages back we introduced a couple of techniques to obtain the space jump even before Maridia, but the best way is simply to get the Spring Ball, then get the Plasma and blast those beetoms away! Nice, easy and.... meant    :)

EDIT: wow, talk about timing once again here...
Okay; understood. Get the Spring Ball, then get the Plasma Beam, then get out of Meridia and get the Space Jump, then go back and hunt a few expansions before going back to Norfair. My path is set.

Edit: Umm...help with the Spring Ball? I can't seem to get into the space where the grapple block was. It's too far; I just hit the ceiling and fall into the sand.

Edit again: Got the Spring Ball. I didn't know that there was another grapple block directly above the opening. Either way, walljumping up that spiked shaft was ten different shades of HOLY HELL! I feel a great sense of accomplishment.
FINALLY done with meridia until I get the Gravity Suit. Plasma Beam and Space Jump in possession.

I can still get a couple of items in Wrecked Ship, and one more E-Tank would be very helpful for the path to the Speed Booster. After that, the hunt begins.

It was incredibly difficult to pull off, but I managed a Speed Ball and escaped with the Speed Booster. I'm back in Crateria now, getting expansions galore.
This energy tank?

Edit: Sorry. I'm used to the rules of Gfaqs, where nobody minds multiple posts. I'll try to cut back on it. Anyway, any tips on how to get the ET in the picture?

Edit: I'm getting frustrated by this energy tank. Wherever Saturn hid the path to the tank, he hid it well.
whoa. use the edit button; don't post again if yours is the last post in the topic.
