I'm surprised there's not a thread on this already... Anyways Kotaku posted this via Official Nintendo Magazine

Higher Res Gameplay Video: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/video.php?id=3874

It looks like the aspect ratio was squeezed from 16:9 to 4:3 for some reason...

I'm personally excited for this. I really don't get why it seems 90% of everyone else is boo hoo-ing about this game.
Thread title:
I can't share your excitement based on this, to be honest. To be precise, in my opinion they still need to do some work on how the camera behaves.
Bananas GOOD, Kremlings BAD
Hmm.  So Samus doesn't automatically run off of ledges and it looks like she stops on a dime...

I think we've seen that before (or at least it was discussed).

Apparently now skrees can now jump around after landing. :o
Wall-jumping also looks pretty cool.

Gotta love the restrooms. laugh new
Looks like the poorest run and gun mechanics a designer could ever create. If that standard is sufficient for basic action here then ok, but pretty boring for me. By the look of default running I am getting the vibe that a countdown is going and less time left for exploration. But probably those who are accustomed to zero mission can see it somehow different.

Looks like it might be an interesting game, but that's all I want to expect from it. It would probably only disappoint me otherwise.
If Samus stops at a ledge, hopefully we will be able to hop and move a bit, landing on the lip of the ledge without falling (so that Samus is half on, half off the ledge). Could help to get a bit more distance for sequencing breaking.

Of course, if this game is just a 3D fusion (lock the space lab's doors until a story event passes) then sequence breakers need not apply.

Wallcrawling to the rescue!... Wink
This game looks so fun.  I can't wait !

Not sure you have seen this, I find it more informative. At least I must say that adding an evade-technique and timing components is a good thing.
5:13 (authorization) will make some core metroid fans sceptical though. That is what I mean with games are trying to go more mainstream. For me it is the interesting part if it is up to you whether you are lost or not, the game shall not handle everything that can be interesting for some non-lazy people.

One shall stand, one shall ball.
God that fucking weapon authorization things is so fucking stupid. Like, more stupid than just magically losing the items every game.

Yeah, they really need to start working on a more plausible explanation.
You have a 'trust-meter', the more trust you have, the more weapons you can use. Aesthetical explanation found, lol. But the gameplay is surely simplified in that respect, that might concern some except there are enough other things to explore.
coral to complement blue
...With that last video went the last of my optimism. Though it looks like IBJ is back, so barring some fusion-esque locked door bullshit, there is probably some sequence breaking potential.

No they don't. It's a video game, there doesn't need to be any sort of reason. Only dumb people actually care about it and they're dumb so there's no reason to listen to them.
They should just not mention it, like they used to in RoS and SM.

Sounds just like 90% of the discussion over at another metroid forum I know of.  I think right now they are discussing which bosses would win if they fought one another.  There's also alot of deep discussion on Samus' personality.  I just think talking about the fic of the series is fucking stupid, sorry.
One shall stand, one shall ball.
No no it is very important that you understand that my favorite boss could beat yours up. Crocomire is the most powerful of all bosses and here's why
Not impossible
just highly unlikely
Kraid steps on Crocomire and then eats his brain. Then Phantoon flys in and zaps Kraid in all his eyes at once and then eats his brain. Then SSJ4 Goku and Silver-Age Superman fly in and beat Phantoon. Then Superman and Goku fight and the universe explodes.

Dont be ridiculous. Every gamer has figured out Mother Brain would burn his ass.
