Well, the last time I checked a NBMB run the springball was not able to be gotten. I just got it. Is this new, or am I really bad at using the search function?
He'd (or she'd) have to at least have the gravity suit to bomb jump underwater. And since that isn't obtainable without beating Phantoon... They'd be breaking the 'rule' of a "No Boss".... yada yada.

I guess.
No, that's right. You need either gravity or spring ball to get to the end of that morph ball maze. Spring ball is at the end of the maze so you can't have that, and gravity doesn't exist until after you beat phantoon, so it's impossible. I was too tired to think of it before. XD.
Really? I thought I saw a TAS of someone x-ray climbing up the outside wall of the gravity suit.
This is the video you're talking about, right? It's just for skipping the chozo statue for speed purposes. The gravity suit does not exist until after you defeat Phantoon.
You would have to xray climb to Mother Brain right? My question is. How do you get stuck in the door to do it? I know how to climb without a TAS. Not that it is difficult.
I think you have to trigger the room transition using your pipe boots and hold the opposite direction instead of jumping through completely, so you don't have enough momentum to clear the door before it closes.
Doh! You're never supposed to ask about those or the Wood Beam, otherwise you're susceptible to lots of mockery!
They are non-existent items, whose names have been around for ages, and are usually mentioned as a joke when topics get off-topic in a silly manner, or if somebody makes a comment about something fairly obvious.
In reference to the spoiler, in this case it's neither, I'm just randomly using them instead of regular boots because it's just plain silly. The rest of the explanation is right as far as I can remember though.
Well, I can make my speed down to nothing and still cannot get stuck in the door. Whether I am standing, crouching or balled up I can't get stuck. If I could, I would later attempt a no boss I suppose. Since all I would have to do is collect some stuff and skip the statues, I don't see why not. I can get the gravity suit, so... Getting the spring ball wouldn't be a problem, even though it isn't necessary.
As somebody already mentioned, I'm fairly certain that the Gravity Suit doesn't even appear until Phantoon has been defeated, so it can't be collected.

Well, good luck on skipping the statues, you'll probably die of old age before you get through the 11 screens of X-ray climbing :)
And what's worse, half of the time you won't even see samus, so you won't know if you managed to get up to standing position again with the X-ray, and if you fail to do so even once (out of hundreds of times) without knowing it and press down (to supposedly crouch), you will go into morphball mode and be stuck forever.
Anyway, getting into the door isn't too hard, just position yourself inside the door, as close to the door trigger as possible, facing away from it. Then tap forward and press A so that you do a spinjump without moving forward, and just before you are about to hit the ground after coming back down press away from the door, which because of the walljump check (I believe) will make you enter it moving in the wrong direction, which should get you stuck.

Wouldn't you hear the x-ray sound, though, so you would know if you'd cocked up?
Got myself stuck in the door and started climbing. When I got above the door, I wouldn't go any higher. I think it is because I was detected as standing on the door.
Also, it doesn't matter how long you hold the beam for, you just need to be sure to let go in the middle of turning.
