Hi, I'm participating in the Metroid Marathon (see topic in "General Metroid"), and the game I am responsible for is Hunters. My first practice run, where I played without any guides but just to get a feel for the game and controls, I got 7:44.
Would anyone be able to recommend a route that does not utilize glitches? I'm trying for speed to some degree, but our main goal in the marathon is to let people see the games being played when they perhaps have not beaten them by themselves. (Ergo, if we memorized the routes from SDA, people who hadn't ever seen some of the games before would have no idea what was going on.)
Tomorrow I'm going to practice alongside a guide and see what my time gets down to, but if someone has a route they like that doesn't skip anything important, I might be able to learn something about where to improve my run. (I do not consider going back to other planets to collect weapons before defeating the bosses as sequence breaking, but if it detracts from time too much then I probably won't do that.)
If you're unaware of our marathon, the topic mentioned has some info, and more can be found at our website in my signature. (We've got Retro Studios behind us! They're donating a copy of MP3 signed by the developers! It's awesome!)
