The seemingly random loading screens are because the game doesn't necessarily load the entire room at once.
Time bomb set get out fast!
Wow, once you're better at the game you start seeing those loading screens way more often. Tonight I had a weird experience wall-jumping between two rooms. I made the jump into the new room and got a loading screen; that broke my rhythm, so I slipped and then got a loading screen for the previous room. And then one more for the new room as I jumped back up. Granted, one of them was a boss room, but even so... very sloppy to let loading take place there.

At least they had the courtesy to make it so doors lagging due to loading doesn't kill speed booster momentum.

Have we determined yet what that door is? It's starting to bug me.

The door the topic is about? It's a door in the big room with the rotating wall jump columns. The elevator goes right through that room. You go around the shaft in a morph ball tunnel right before you go in the door to the nav room. It's either that door or the door that you have to unlock with the console.
I was thinking on my way through that room a few days ago, and yeah, it seems more like the room with the morph ball tunnels in it. (Where you can also get a missile expansion if you go right instead of left.) There's a save room right after that section, and after viewing a video of a walkthrough that plays that part, there is a round column in the center of the room that you navigate around through the tunnels. If I remember right, we see a navigation room door and not a normal door on the way down the elevator right?

If so, problem solved.

IIRC it was a normal door, not a nav. door

You can speedbooster into doors that stay shut for loading purposes, and you keep speedboosting in place until the door opens (Probably because you're supposed to be able to run through but loading prevented it.)
