My wallpaper of Samus

Leader of the "Council of XIII"

I used Gimp on my Linux partition to make this wallpaper. It took me about two days to complete given that I had a lot of free time after I got home from work. I'd like to give my credit to Nintendo (for creating Samus and making Metroid games), Gimp, and Google (for making my search of the Gravity Suit easier).

In the honeycombs, many of you will recognize the different Metroid games. The top two are Metroid and Metroid II- Return of Samus; the three under that are Zero Mission, Super Metroid Dependence (rom hack of Super Metroid), and Fusion; under Zero Mission is Metroid Prime and to the left of it is Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. Under Metroid Prime 2 is Metroid Prime: Hunters and below Metroid Prime is Metroid Prime 3, which has yet to be released. If they are hard to see, then I apologize for not making them bright enough.

You all may use this as your desktop and host them on your websites if you choose to, all I ask is that you give appropriate credit. Thanks for taking time to look at this.

I don't know who edited that pic to be honest, but I thought to the SM ending in which you get to see Samus in a bikini and then I came across that pic and was like, "Ok, I'll use this and spruce it up a bit". Anyways, what are your thoughts on this? I'll have to upload the one with the 1280x1024 when I return home from work.

Well first off, the bikini shop shouldn't be used because it's one of the worst pictures ever. Secondly, the wallpaper as a whole just looks like you put pictures on a canvas and then ran some filters.

Thanks for the criticism, I appreciate it. So far everyone else I've shown it to was like "It's awesome" but didn't point out any flaws whatsoever.

It does look like just what Saber said, but it still looks pretty cool, besides the shopped Samus image. I wouldn't use it as a wallpaper, though, if that gives you any clue to its quality-- to me it's just a fairly neat work to look at.

Also, when you make wallpapers, it may be worth it to consider offering them in a widescreen version as well as the standard ratio, as many, if not most, monitors/displays sold these days are widescreen.

Yeah, that's what I intended, I just forgot to upload it in the correct height/width format (that's what I get for not being thoughtful). I'll be sure to do that when I get home. I may work on something else Metroid related but put may more work into it this time around.[/quote]
