These days I rarely take comments on sites like Youtube or GameFaqs very seriously because it seems like they have a higher percentage of opinions that are on the extremes than other places I go to. Either that, or you get somebody trying to share their honest opinion for something, good or bad, and the majority of other people jump down their throats and try to force the "popular" opinion on everyone.

But as far as Corruption goes, I think tomatobob is right because that's probably a good part of why I like Rundas over the others. He gets more screen time, which gave Retro more time to develop his personality than they did with Ghor and Gandrayda. That said, he doesn't get much in that department because he's killed off so early in the game, but at least of the three of them he seemed to me like the only one with any real level of respect for Samus, at least the first time I played the game. Never really liked Ghor for one reason or another, and as far as Gandrayda goes as a character I don't like her much either.

But she wins hands down as a boss fight for being one of the best in the game since she completely flips the previous boss encounters on their heads for being so different. Plus the fact that, without the Screw Attack trick, she can be difficult at times depending on what type of run you're doing, but not in a way that makes you frustrated like Mogenar does.

Rundas is only cool because Christopher Sabat.
That his voice actor or something? I have no idea who that is to be honest.

I think Ghor steals the show in this way...
#1) his sarcasm while inside the DNA scan booth
#2) when Samus walks into the briefing room and we see Samus' double... the look on Ghor's face says it all.

The fight against Gandrayda sort of reminds me of the spider ball fight in MP2 (screw attack & morph ball). Both are well executed. I have to now say the highlight of the Gandrayda fight is when she turns into Samus - that few seconds is very well done.

I actually hated everything about Gandrayda. Nothing good came from that character's involvement in the game. The fight just annoyed me.
Gandrayda is the kind of character that you love to hate.
I'm sorry to hear that (tomato). The more I play MP3 the more I like it. I always find it amazing how people can think so differently about the same thing... just look at Tuesday's election.

I like most of Prime 3 honestly, but that fight was really just annoying. She just bounces around all over the place and acts like other enemies and bosses now and then, it felt like they didn't really have any more ideas as bosses go and just kinda threw things together. It would have been better if they had her shapeshift into things we hadn't seen before, even her Samus form wasn't terribly interesting since we already did that to death in Prime 2. Would have required the player to think on their feet a little.
To be specific, I was mainly referring to her "normal form" as far as how her battle completely changes up things from all of the previous ones. She's must faster and more maneuverable than any other boss besides Dark Samus, which was refreshing compared to the others who mostly spam shockwaves at you and such. But yeah, that would've been an awesome idea as far as having her turn into new things rather than remixes of what we'd taken care of already.

I guess for me, Samus being as tank like as she is in the Prime games makes her somewhat poorly suited for an extended battle with such an agile character. There more hopping around while spinning to try and get the target back in your sites after she inevitably breaks your lock about .7 seconds after you acquire it in the first place. Which may be more of a complaint with how the whole lock on thing worked in Corruption than that particular fight, but the fun of that wore out pretty fast for me.

I'll grant that the lack of a standard shockwave attack was pretty nice though.

Interesting to think that Gandrayda would've been better-done in Other M.  Which she probably would've.  It would've been like a ninjas-and-lasers catfight.

And yeah, I hated that Lock-On Free Aim was forced for Corruption's bosses.  What's the point of locking on if your crosshair doesn't stay on the target?
One shall stand, one shall ball.
Well, locking on to a target in Corruption gives you a point to focus on and allows you to actually use your evasive maneuvers, I actually liked being able to use one enemy as a focal point while dealing with the others in a group. The problem is that your lock breaks if the target saunters lazily to the left leaving you the ability to strafe along but without access to your dash and suddenly very vulnerable to whatever the target fired at you before its casual stroll out of your lock. I cannot count the amount of times I've gotten my ass handed to me by Mogenar because he decided to spend a minute just dancing around breaking my lock. What they really needed to do was just completely ignore the Z button once a target has broken the lock, make you let go and hit the button again instead of leaving you there locked onto a nonexistent point out in space somewhere.

Maybe I was just slower to recognize the break than most but holy shit did I spend a lot of time jumping straight up instead of dashing because your lock holds about as well a wet toilet paper.

that's what i hated most about mp3's lock on. a lot of enemies break it so easily compared to mp1 and 2. i could get used to forced free aim in boss fights since their weak spots were in odd places but the lock on breaking so easily was pretty irritating at first, mostly because you're used to it being more reliable like in mp1 and 2.
