What'd you say?
My nephew has been interested in playing my DS for the longest time and I always had Zero Mission in it, after he showed me that he could do IBJ I decided to have him actually play the game. He is currently leaving Kraid's map and he is actually doing pretty good, the only time I had to step in for him was for Kraid, even though he almost had him killed. His current time is over an hour with about 30%. Anything I should teach/show him to help him out?

EDIT: My nephew is only 5.
Thread title:
I think I remeber a topic like this before... here.

Well, it's pretty close.
What'd you say?
The only part of that topic that really helped me was this:
Quote from Red Scarlet:
1-Beat the boss, then hit reset.

2-Beat the boss again and say out loud what you are doing and why as you are doing it, then hit reset.

3-Beat the boss again without saying anything, then hit reset.

4-Beat the boss one last time and have the other person say what they learned and/or why you are doing what you are, then hit reset.
Go step by step if you have to.

5-Give controller to other person.  Hit reset if you can get away with it.

If anyone else has any advice please help me, I'm going to his house today so he can play some more later.

if he's doing pretty well i don't see a need to "help" him out. if he asks for help, give him some hints where to go. using scarlet's boss strategy sounds good too.

I'm willing to estimate he asks about 50-60 questions an hour.  laugh new But yea, he is doing pretty good. Thanks for the tips guys.
once GameFAQs, now Twitch
Teach him to Shinespark, and the different directions to do it in.  If you feel confident, maybe show him how to recharge it on slops, but the thrill/coolies of rocketting through the air is by itself a 'blast'.

Maybe have him sit at the title screen, to have the game show off some of its moves.  There's, what, two demo movies/clips?
