ok so here is what i got so far.

im lazy so just dl it.

EDIT: i messed up alot in places.
i put the techno rave in the wrong folder.
and i put screen shots of my background in there(ignore those)
and i did not make fire bloom.

I like the Hoshi edit ones the best, really makes the pictures a lot better.

Have you tried using photoshop? I don't want this to be a PS vs Gimp thread, just wondering why you prefer Gimp more though.

its simpler, has more interface, and its free.
AND it can do anything PS can do and more IMO
and its easier to free draw in it.

I didn't realised that my netbook already come with Gimp (yes, my netbook is running ubuntu). I think the difference between photoshop and gimp is that gimp is free, right? However, I never used Gimp before so I might not know how to use it.

typing imo does not protect you from disagreements, furthermore it is redundant as one would assume that that is, in fact, your opinion based on you stating it.

even if its "better" than gimp. id rather use gimp.

Opinion.

I'm assuming "meetthegimp" is a GIMP site, so of course their opinion would be biased towards GIMP. Whenever I see a "GIMP vs PS" type thread the gimp-side will always use the "Well GIMP is free so I don't have to pay 600$ to use it!". Price should not be a con or a pro of either side wince it is quite easy to get any program for free.

I used GIMP before I used photoshop, but the graphics art class I take uses photoshop only so I know it much better then GIMP. I'm wondering though, does GIMP have all the different kind of filters you can put on an image (Filter -> Filter gallery)? This was one of the major things I thought GIMP lacked. I also find it a lot easier to find tutorials to do things in photoshop as opposed to GIMP.

GIMP is a very good program though, I'm not saying it sucks or anything. If there was no photoshop then GIMP would certainly be the best thing.

I don't personally put a lot of stock into filters. It has some IIRC, but not an entire gallery. I've never really looked into them though.

the only reason that PS has more tuts is because more people say want to use PS over gimp, and because its more popular.
but the only reason its more popular is because everyone assumes the the pricier(yes its a real word) the better.

If there was no way to pirate photoshop, I guarantee you GIMP would be much more popular.
