even if someone were good enough to do this, would there be any practical applications, what with event++;?
The only application I can think of would be skipping the high jump, but there are probably others

nope, just rationalization.
it would be interesting, though, to do what the above poster said, because you would get space jump from nettori (and, i assume, reactivate the main power).
unfortunately, i think the fun would end at the final boss, where you wouldn't get the ice beam unless you were actually going through and doing every event up to that point (i.e. killing every boss and going into every security room).
