Multiple Bombs?
Yes I like them. (17)
No I dont Like them. (5)
I wonder why they stopped making Metroid games that allow you to drop a bunch of bombs at once(Holding charge and the use Morph Ball, Only in Super Metroid)
Thread title:
Probably for the same reason they took all teh rest of Supers super-secret moves out (crystal flash and beam shields), whatever that reason is. Personally, though, I prefer to shoot when morphing. I think that works nicer when using the power grip to climb into an area that forces you to morph.
Very useful. One way you could use Multible bombs is when trying to find hidden passages faster.
You can find secret passages even faster by power bombing the whole room... of course that didn't work in Super for finding speed blocks I think.
I was thinking the same thing today, "why did they take out the multi bombs?" then i played around with charging and morphing for a bit, and still haven't found a single use for it....(though i guess i can think of a few. very very minor ones)

I preferred metroid 3's "super moves" the beam shields, though not that useful, were just a cool touch.  And the Crystal Flash, though something i could never really pull off unless i was seriously trying, was also just VERY cool.  I guess when they removed the ability to unequip items, these also had to go with it.  Of course, that ability is a very very useful one, so im pisssed they removed it in the first place.

I mainly miss the X-Ray visor, it just made finding everything in super so much easier than having to powerbomb stuff, which doesn't show hidden passages... (well, it does in zero mission i believe) and of course, the grappling beam is just FUN.  considering they changed that to samus' other thand (her non-gun hand) I'm sure they could make some interesting situations that involve hanging and shooting at once.

Someone once mentioned a combination between grapple beam and Zip Line, and I loved the idea...

Ready and willing.
The multiple bombs and beam shields (and reserve tanks, for that matter) were very likely taken out because they sucked, gameplay-wise.
The reserve tanks, i do agree... they were absolutely pointless, espicially because you could remove the room where the arrow was and fit the 4 tanks in there.

The beam shields had some VERY interesting gameplay uses if they bothered to implement them.. But, they got lazy and didn't.

I still don't know why they don't allow you to unequip items anymore.. that was a VERY useful ability...
Especially when you have Screw Attack and you're trying to jump on a frozen Ripper.  That gets annoying.
Or when you're Space-Jumping through the security lasers to get that last Energy Tank, and you grab onto the ledge with the beam.  Not fun.

Shinespark that one, it's much easier and much faster.

Run from right to left, save the spark before the short wall, spin jump down, drop off the edge and spark in mid-air before hitting the floor laser. Wink

Easier, yes, but it's faster to space jump it. if you wish to shinespark it, after breaking the speed blocks you have to go back and re-charge your speed booster so you can spark, wasting more time than you save. Space jumping it is hard enough that very few people consider the time saved worth it, though.

you can actually spacejump through that thing pretty damn quickly... its best if you DO try to spacejump  it quickly, if i try to take my time and be precise i screw up.

Shinesparking works as well I suppose, but i do think spacejumping is actually faster.

The only reason I say shinespark it is because I've never made it by Space Jumping.  Rolling Eyes
Here's an idea for all you swearing at grabbing the laser - dont hold right.

Just press the fire button. Fire + Somersault = no more somersault.
There's worse things that can happen.  I was in that one room in Norfair where you have to freeze the enemies and use them as stepping stones (not the one after the Ice Beam, another one).  I froze the Ripper, stood on it, and jumped... it died, and I fell into the lava, and had to wall jump up.
