I was browsing the forums, and in one page I saw a topic called "Morph ball Run" And I was like: "Ehh...? That's impossible"
But, I kinda got interested and mailed the guy.
He (Or She) Teached me the bomb jump technic, and I decided to give it a try.
I used the Jelly guys rules and techniques, but Since he never posted the run, I'm not sure that I did everything correctly.
But, anyway. I died in AQA, which sucks. I'm thinking of making another try, but We'll see.

This is the Quote from the Jelly guy:
Quote from Metroid Jelly:
One day, i was bored. I tried to make bomb jumping in fusion, though i knew that it's impossible. Anyway i managed to jump a pretty high distance, anyway not so high, that it would help you with sequence breaking. From the moment i got the Jumpball (High jump boots), i decided that i would be in the morph ball form as long as possible. And i managed to go forward in the game pretty well!
I decided to make rules to myself:

-I will not stand up unless i am in a boss fight, standing on an elevator, Navigation switch, Recharge switch, or a save platform.

-I must try to be in morph ball form in boss fights as long as possible, and the ability must be grabbed in Morph ball form.

-Some rare places that cannot be went through with morph ball form, will be considered as "Impossible points".

-When you get yourself to an "Impossible point", you will have to:
1. Try all the possible ways to go through it without coming out of the ball, if this is impossible you will have to:
2. Go through the room as fast as possible. Example for an "Impossible point": When nightmare is on loose, you will have to climb a wall that will take you to the watery part of the sector. With half seconds of thinking i understood that it is impossible to climb a wall when you are in morph ball. You will most likely have to climb when Samus is unmorphed wether you like it or not.

- The last rule: All enemies that are possible to kill with bombs, must be killed with them.

Yes. Now you know the rules, so let's get started.

Interesting. Tell me more about getting high distances with the bomb jump.

soo...after getting jumpball? Question
everybody knows it's true
Knight was joking how the difficulty will be high because ibjing is banished from Fusion.
The only thing I know you can do with bombs is this
Ehh...?
My post got half-deleted.

It got edited by a mod.
red chamber dream
Raccoon Sam, your post was edited by a moderator, because he felt it was random and irrelevant. And, since he's the mod, what he says goes.
Get back on-topic, please.
Sooo...what's the point of a morph ball run?
Sounds like its more for when you're bored.

It sounds very cool to me. Although it's probably more doable in MZM.
Sounds... interesting, but I don't think it's possible. Then again, nothing preventing comes to mind. You'll have to speed bost and jump in some spots though. Too bad a full run isn't possible

yeah, almost like a videogame.

yeah, almost like a videogame.

I play video games to have fun, not when I'm bored. But, I was playing zm the other day and I got bored and did a morph ball run (or tried to)
Tried to? What went wrong?
Well... I didn't finish the whole game but theres a lot of things you have do that cant be done in the morph ball.
If you want objective rules, consider counting the number of rooms where you leave morph ball mode in any way. Lower total number means better run.

Good idea, but I dont think morph ball runs will become popular. It could be something we do on this site though. Here's what I think the rules would be:

Be in morph ball as much as possible
Get as many items as possible
Get as much of the map filled in as possible (visit each square, not get the map data)
Like Fredrik's idea, count the rooms that you use morph ball
Get the fastest time.
Beat bosses as fast as possible or beat the boss while mostly in the morph ball

This is starting to sound cool. I'm sure submitting the idea to SDA could make it more popular if accepted. Try and get some good speed runs of this first though.
I can do Serris while spending around 99% of the battle in Morph Ball (not including the Core-X fight). I only unmorph to blast the sucker.

now to avoid confusion here, is this like the MP morph ball stuff where you finish the game and see how many rooms you can get through, or is it as son as you grab the morph ball in fusion, you must stay in it for as long as humalny possilbe? this looks fun and interesting, but wondering the validity of morph ball running like one can do in prime due to the door locking issues and all
I was thinking a morph ball run for zero mission and fusion. Super might work but I dont know about metroid 2. I might make a morph ball run for fusion. If we were to do this, should we count how many rooms you had to go out of morph ball or should we count how many rooms you stayed completely in morph ball?
This sounds fun I think I'll try it.

well, I think it should go like this. . . . first off, beat the game. then go to the starting point of the respective metroid game in question, and go through as many rooms as possilbe while in morph ball. all morph ball abilities can be used, as well as any technique discovered is fair game for using. seeing as I think a morph ball run should be fun and not frustrating, if you want to kill all enemies in a room, do it normally. then just go the door you came into the room from and go through it in ball form, unless you want to kill enemies in ball form.
