i managed to beat regulator with 1 life, entirely in morphball, without firing a single shot, i got to dark samus with 4:13 left, and finished the fight with 7 seconds left. I seriously think that anyone could do better. and i encourage you guys to try. take note that the room 2 rooms for D.S. (the second vertical up room) is a zazabi to do. you have to time your bombs and movements to bomb the ones that disappear when you get close, and then have to do a double bomb jump, and then bomb the enemies floating over the gap to get across. (if you fall, a double bomb jump+ a boost will get you over) then use a specail metroid-killing technique:wait for em to screech, then drop 2 bombs and move. repeat.
