I can't decide if this is spam or not.

While it doesn't appear to be spam, and seems legitimate enough, I can't see that it would do any harm to lock it, as it seems pretty much read-only.
toozin: i gave the ok for this already.

THANKS FOR TELLING THE REST OF US.
I didn't think it was spam because MDB is awesome !

YEAH THAT FUCKING DICTATOR

Okay, seriously. I would have entered if you guys were shipping to the EU, but whatever.

Yeah, thanks nate for allowing me to post this up.
We can't ship to anywhere but the US because shipping costs are completely insane, and I'm basically paying for most of this out of my own pocket.  It's just a hassle, really.  You're still very much invited to enter, you just couldn't get any prizes if there was a chance of you being in the top 3.  Sorry!
Green-Kirby, ROAR!
You know you could just send the money via paypall for anyone outside the US so they can go buy the shit instead. :/

...or not. o_O
If he already has the prizes then sending a cash prize via paypal would put him back.

It sounds like the competition is 'something for nothing' to me, so nobody should really have grounds to grumble.  I don't think Ryu's gripe was in any way serious, and was a minor grumble at best.
Well, a chance on a free US version of Trilogy would be neat. I want that alu case.

But it's really not that much a problem, like Quietus said.

Way to rub it in, man.

Anyway, this contest sounds pretty cool.  I'd like to see what people do.  By the way, who will be judging?
MDb Admin
The 3 of us that make up the MDb staff will be judging.  We may have our board mod help as well.

Just wanted to give this thread a little bump and let you guys know that we have just added some new prizes to the contest:  3 Metroid Metal albums and stickers!  So be sure to enter the contest!  We haven't gotten too many entries as of late, so the chances are looking REALLY good right now...

Are you trying to make me cry?
I finally finished my super cool metroid that I made out of plastic beads. Total amount of time it took was about 6 hours.  It would have been less, except for the fact that I dropped it when I was about 3/4 of the way done and it came almost completely apart so I basically had to start over.
Taking a photo of it, however, is proving to be quite difficult.  My roomie and I can't figure out how to disable the flash!  The beads are shiny, so the flash reflects off of it and makes the whole thing look white.  I took pics of it with my phone, but the image quality is so poor that you can't see the individual beads and it just looks like crap.  I'm so frustrated at this point that I think I'm just gonna give up.
Just hold your finger in front of it.
The contest is over, see the winners here:

Mine is the 'Beadtroid' and seriously was nowhere as cool as the three winners.  This was a fun contest, I hope there's another one sometime.
I know this contest is already over, but I still have some question. Does 3D printing count?
I'm not entirely sure what '3D printing' is, but the rules basically said it could not be artwork or rendering, it had to be an actual physical 3D object.

3D printer look something like this.

Basically, it turns 3D model into physical 3D object. The reason why I ask because I don't see any rules against it. Drewseph used 3D printer to print puzzle.

That's amazing.  I bet that thing costs $50K easily.

I bet you could have submitted something like that into the contest, but I don't think it would have been a good strategy for impressing the judges.  The impressive thing would be the technology used, and not the artistry.

WOW look at this guy rigging a regular inkjet printer to do 3D printing:

In case you want, here's Drewseph's printer.

Imagine if Drewseph entered this contest.
