Which is better?
Metroid (12)
Metroid Zero Mission (40)
Not Sure (4)
Just a simple question. Which is better, the remake or the original?

I vote Metroid due to the lack of map, and the fact that Zero Mission hand feeds you directions your first time through (and annoyingly, every other time).

I think the original is better, even though it kicks my ass.
I liked Zero Mission. It had great graphics and sound and fighting Meta Ridley was a pleasent fun surprise. Also they made Kraid look... well... non-retarded.
What luck, there's french fry stuck in my beard.
I find myself playing Zero Mission more, so....  Zero Mission.  I just find it much more playable.
Well, I suck at the original, but it offers a lot more sequence breaking :(. Grrr, stupid choosing. I guess ZM because of all the Shine Spark glory :P
I don´t know... Metroid is more difficult...
And Zero Mission....has.....errr.... Speed Booster which I like  :|
For me, it's Zero Mission:

- The added bit after MB is cool (In my opinion)
- The stealth part is an interesting spin on Metroid (Plus the music when running from pirates is cool  :D)
- And... I can actually beat this one  Embarassed
Definitely Zero Mission.

I would say the original mainly because I don't own Zero Mission. The original was fun it had completly random items positions with no hints what so ever.
too far apart to make any kind of comparison.
I agree with Nate. Some games are just great for their times, but seem dull 10 years down the road. Like Super Mario Bros. and Megaman 1.

Hmm, maybe dull is too harsh a word.
Megaman 2 is so much better :P

Ready and willing.
I find that good video games hardly age at all, especially compared to other things from the 80's. The only good video game I feel has become too old and dull is Tetris.

Sometimes it feels like I'm the only one who can appreciate new and old games, tho.  :(
Metroid - Zero Mission is way better than the original Metroid!!  :)

But hey, I play the original Metroid VIA Metroid Prime!!  :D

Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!  :)

Good times!!!  :)

You're not alone in that.

Well, I've actually been gaming since WAY back in the good old NES days and am still going strong. (The first game I can really recall playing was either Mario 1 or 2)

As long as they can still entertain us, why should it matter how old a game is? I occasionally play games like the original Mario, Zelda (Even though I can't beat that one...), Metroid (Same here...), and various others. Even after almost 20 Years (Woah, that long already???) they can still be fun.

However, I do tend to notice that the older games seem far harder in my opinion. But I feel that's since some of them only give you the chance to take one hit, don't continue, etc. That doesn't mean that I like them less: In a way it can actually make them even more fun since they offer a greater challenge over some of the more recent ones.

So yeah, you aren't the only ones who like games of all ages. If anyone is like me, we just haven't told you guys yet 8).

Edit: Oh, and as I said earlier on, one of the reasons I like Zero Mission over the original is due to the fact that I can actually finish it. (Yeah, the only Metroid I can't seem to get through is the first, go figure...)
I think I'm one of the few who appreciates the classics.

=/

I like both Metroid and MZM equally. Metroid for sheer difficulty and awesomeness and MZM for new moves, graphics, etc.

Classic games are some of the best (and hardest), though. I can beat the original Metroid now with somewhat ease, because I play it so much, but it used to own me in so many ways. Zelda too.
Newer games are just as great, but I won't go into why because I just got further off-topic.
What luck, there's french fry stuck in my beard.

I appreciate them for what they did, but in sheer playability, I'd say Metroid loses to Zero Mission.
I('d) like to watch (some MP3 runs)
Noway!

Old games r teh kewl.

I find myself playing Metroid 1 over ZM.

Damn straight!
Meh, the original is cool and all, but I like Zero Mission better.  Well I think Zero Mission is the best so yeah....
ZM easily, the playability helps, Metroid just seems so clunky, and the slowdown... Portability is nice too  :)
The original deserves respect for being the first game, but Metroid 1 feels to slow and dated for my taste.

pfffffffff

And M1 is portable too, has been longer than ZM.
