BionicleGenius, I hope you realize that that's not Von giving a %age....... Brick wall
Fear Me! (Or else...)
What's not giving him a percentage? There were several things in my post. Also, I was referring to the one that was made up of thousands of smaller facepalms laugh new. That one was awesome! laugh new
khaaaan
Okay listen, J-SNAKE gave a fake percentage and here you are believing it.  I'm trying to tell you before you make yourself look dumber that you're not getting a real answer.
Fear Me! (Or else...)
Oh, Ack! laugh new laugh new laugh new laugh new. I saw 'Von' in the quote, and automatically assumed it was Von. Lol! Sorry, guys. Carry on. Embarassed
Yo.
I think J-SNAKE was actually trying to show a sense of humor.

Also, Bloodsonic stole the link for the Facepalm.jpg that you saw from MY WEBHOST.

Hey, everyone has to learn.

The thing that people seem to ignoring is that a target is just that: a target. It doesn't mean the arrow will hit dead center. A target is merely something to aim for.
Quote from Steyiak:
Von how % is the Demo complete?

I'm going to make an educated guess and say 63%. It's evolved into something more like a minigame, and has some graphics and so on sprited just for the demo, so it's taking longer than we initially planned.

When I go to the site it says on vacation - back in awhile! Does this happen to anyone else?

I'm still on vacation, but I opened the site back up.
Yo.
The edit button is a handy tool, Von Richter.

This. Of course, one should always try to aim for the center, but even if they miss the mark, they can still have it made (regardless of the disappointment of the fans...)
So are you saying he should give it out now in its unfinished state?  That's what it sounds like to me.
Yo.
No, I meant "have it made" as in being in a prosperous kind of standing, not as in making the demo or anything. "Having it made," or something along the lines of "being set for life," probably sounds much better used in conversations where there is something to be earned from the means...
Oh okay, I didn't think of that as an expression.  Carry on. Wink

Clueless what you mean by that. What's special or unusual about a forum edit button?  Eh?

It's definitely being 'made'.
Yo.
Eh, you made a triple post. Not my place to minimod you about it, but the staffers generally advise you to use the edit button when you aren't making a large relevant bump, instead of making a new post or three.

In game-development the bigger problem is not the aiming but FIXING the target. The target here is the planned subject the software wants to realize. So why setting a date for the public release even before your target is fixed?

(personally I don't care but probably a thing to think about)

This applies more to a commercial product than a personal one like VR's.  There isn't a reason to fix a date for release since there are no ramifications from delaying more.  It's not like there's any money loss.

That is not what I am talking about. "target" here is not what you are confusing.

We got more ambitious with the demo and as a result missed the target deadline. It's as simple as that. Accept it, and move on with your life.

If there was a triple post somewhere, the duplicates were removed before I saw them, and I experienced no technical errors that would cause me to click "post" 3 times. So I had/have no control over whatever triple post you're talking about.

Back on topic, the demo is still moving along nicely. I have complete faith in it's inevitable release.

I'm not sure I get why everyone's making a fuss out of all this

Let the guy breath, you don't have to always be on his throat, it's his project, his baby, let him decide what he should and should not do >_>

Nice, I got no doubts about you and your teams work
I'm anxious to see how this all turns out :D

That is exactly what I am talking about: The thing you are learning over and over again is that the target/subject of the game and even of the demo is not fixed. It changes quickly.
You are not the only one. I face the same "problem".

(Double-post means you post a first reply and then post a second one before someone else replies after your first one.
Your last two posts were a double post again for example. Personally I have no problem with it but the mods have one.

So in fact you are able to have the control over double-posting Zhs2 has talked about. Just listen to people who want to help you instead ignoring them.)
If it helps at all, I am at the point now where it's easier for me to understand why games get delayed after a "target" date is set. Things happen all the time that are outside of our control, like a member of the development team being sick and unable to do his part of the project for a few days. (Personally going through this right now in one of my college classes, and when the class is divided into two and three person teams, it causes all sorts of problems fast)

I still have faith in your team getting the job done. You've been working on this for three years now right? A few more months won't kill the project, especially when it looks like you're pretty far into the game's development at this point. And since you feel so passionately about it, you'll want to make it as great a game as you can.

Am I disappointed? A little, perhaps... But am I willing to wait a little longer so that the end result is better for it? Absolutely.
Is....
Is this dead?
