Ok. Just redid the segment. It was much worse that last time, but I don't care. I still got 1:14 anyway. Keep in mind that I will not count this as a personal record. Unless Nintendo comes out and says ROMs are legal to use now.  :)

Sent the complete set as a zip file.

Eh, you already own the game. It shouldn't be illegal, right? Okay, well, maybe illegal kinda, but it's not immoral.
It is illegal, Nintendo says there's no need for backups. Check the information in every manual. Personally: I don't care, if a person owns the original and doesn't share the rom with others, what's the problem?

By the way: where did you send the zip to? Any chance we can download it within some days?

Nintendo doesn't write the law, what they say is irrelevent.  I don't believe the legal status of backup roms has ever been tested in court.
I sent it to Nate, but it's not on that page. Dunno why. DaveB has his on his page, but maybe that's because he sent it before that new emulator rule thingy?
not on what page? you're welcome to share anything you want (metroid-related, anyway) from wassupdawgs.metroid2002.com.
I sent it there, but it didn't show up. Neither did a couple of other things I sent.

Strange, I can't play them. What do you need to play the files?

And what's the link to DaveB's page? ^_^

w.dawgs, i have investigated this and determined that the problem was your inclusion of percent signs ("%") in your filenames. try not to do that from now on and things should be fine. i went ahead and removed them from your existing files so they would show up so people would watch them. looking forward to watching your run later today.
Ok. Thanks.
really enjoyed watching your run, w.dawgs. was a nice break from my normal routine, and actually almost had me convinced to go back to fusion.

plan to rip out some stuff i wasn't aware of and add to the site as speed tricks, with your permission, of course. you would be credited. stuff that really blew my mind were:

• the jumping into the electrified water instead of using the monkey bars you bomb open in aqa i,
• the old fashioned low height shinespark in aqa after lowering the water,
• pulling off corollax's speed trick :),
• morphing and rolling under the alien head going into pyr instead of killing it,
• the midair morph into the passage after the shinespark into the bomb block leaving pyr for the first time,
• the variation on the shinespark after yakuza,
• using the ledge immediately before the door in lower noc to re-shine charge after sparking right after the security voice comes on, eliminating the need to turn, open the door, walk into the doorway, turn, and then start running as seen in my run,
• your entire box ii fight,
• the use of the speed booster in the restricted lab,
• rolling under the acid in srx ii heading to ridley,
• using a diffusion missile to take out the missile blocks in the room before the two golden zebesian space pirates room, eliminating the need to hang from the ladder and do it later,
• and remembering to hit ridley with the "backfire" animation of the gun.

your core x fights were also often superior to mine. good job on acknowledging the timesaving abilities of the "sweet spots" for ability collection and actually executing strategies that would leverage them.

i also need to ask you about something i saw in the run. in aqa ii (after nightmare), when entering the long shaft in which the decor and music return to that of aqa i, you shoot a missile directly upward before shinesparking. have you ever successfully followed the missile upwards and gone through the hole it created in the ceiling? if so, that would be a great new speed trick, and would likely make sess's original method of tackling that area faster again (as opposed to the speed trick inspired by me) ... unless, of course, it were possible to hold the shine charge from that trick long enough to go under the missile blocks, but i doubt that's possible.

overall this has been a great day for fusion running (and a great week, come to think of it). thanks for allowing us to learn from your run and to continue to have fun with fusion.
I won't bother quoting becuase that would be a very large post. But anyway...

I'm glad you liked the run. You can use anything you want it.

I haven't been able to follow the missile yet, but it doesn't hurt to try. Maybe I'll get lucky one time.  :)

There are also other speedy things I'd like to try out. Like the water thing in AQA. I haven't tried but it might be possible to just go under the whole bombable ceiling and stuff, past the wall you need to bomb, and then crawl into the tunnel. I think I might try that now.

Edit: Well that didn't work.

Edit2: I'll point something else out in NOC. After entering it through the shortcut from AQA, I spark right and accidently hit the door. If I hadn't done that, I would've done the spark jump trick and opened the next two doors with charge beams while still boosting, then I would've fallen through the floor in the verticle shaft (I forgot to fall through the floor too, but it's only a 1.5 second loss or so). But you can see me charging the beam instead of shooting the door, because I pressed B too early.
