Hi!
Well, I don't know if this subject has been already discussed, I just write about it.

I'm asking, in how many Solar Systems the Metroid Series (not the stories, I'm coming to this back later) play.
Well I think at only 2, Zebes, Tallon IV and the BSL are in the same Solar System and SR388 (or how it's called... it's very late up here and I'm a bit under the influence of alcohol, because a friend of mine's had birthday and... you know  Twisted Evil  ) is in another.

But I'm a bit confused. The Nintendo Metroid Prime Screensaver says, there are Zebes, Tallon IV and Solaris 12 (what ever this is) but Metroid Prime says (In the Phendrana Drift Labs) there are: the Sun (of course...-.-), Planet Billium, an Asteroid Belt, Planet Dormine II, Planet Tebula-Twin, Planet Zebes and Planet Tallon IV (Tallon IV is the most far away planet in this system... if you look at the map).

So, what's right? Where's Solaris 12? And where are the BSL? And where's the Space Colony from Super Metroid? It's very confusing.

Well, but now to the stories, I think we know at least about 4 Systems: Sol System (with Planet Earth. Did you know, that some scientists believed, that a second moon orbits the earth? Very funny and interessting: http://www.nineplanets.org/hypo.html#moon2 ) , The Metroid Zero/Super Metroid/Metroid Prime/Metroid Fusion Sol System, the SR388 and SR300 Sol system and the system where the earth colony KL-2 was, I mean where samus was born.

Let the discussion beginn...

Well, from Prime we know that Tallon IV and Zebes are in the same system.  SR388 is obviously in a different system, but it could be in the same system as K2L.

I also wonder where Aether is...

Yeah, I forgot Aether, you're right... well then I can count 5 known systems, with at least a sun and a planet in it (There is no evidence for a starless planet).

Aether could possibly be in a system with one of the others. Maybe even in the same one as Tallon IV and Zebes. Since Echoes takes place after Prime, the Space Pirates just may not have known about Aether until after Prime ends, explaining why it wasn't shown in the research labs. Or, they may have just been finding things out about Aether while Prime takes place, hence the "Research Lab Aether."

Also, I wouldn't consider information from the screensaver to be accurate. I would believe the games.
I always thought that Tallon, SR, and Zebes were all seperate systems, with the Ceres Space colony in the Zebesian System.

I used to think that too, but it's not true because of information in Prime.

Could be, Arkarian!

Maybe Laboratory "Hydra" just searches for a water Planet, who knows...

Hmm... not possible: They did research on metroids and not on astronomical things. Even though, you'd be better if you try from a inner planet instead from the farest (my grammar in the 1. post was wrong) planet.

SR could be in a different system, but Zebes and Tallon IV are definitely in the same system.
There could be more planets in the Metroid series than we know.

Yeah, I would bet there definitely is. Nintendo will probably make many more Metroid games on new planets. It seems to be the trend in Prime and Echoes.

That's because Samus keeps blowing up all the old planets. X_X

my thoughts:
Prime 2 - Aethor gets owned by dimensional rift in the end.
Prime 3 - She goes back to Tallon IV, somehow blows that thing up.

Then we have the necesary 100% planetary destruction. (Zebes and SR388 both get owned on the second trip, all space stations get owned, KL12 got owned.)

Sol is the name of our solar system.  It's not a term applied to solar systems in general.  Therefore ther other systems are the Zebes/Tallon IV System, the SR-300 System, and the KL-2 System.

Yeah, but I think I read somewhere that the homebase of the Galactic Federation Planet Earth was, and because of that it's also included in Metroid.

Just so you know, there are rules against "l33t" here...

Pfft, some many people use l33t in sarcasm that occosianal (sic) lapses are just fine. Especially when they're uber readable like that. It's just to prevent smart-asses from producing eye burning post long l33t.

Yeah, but he'd done it a few of times and it was getting on my nerves.  Sorry 'bout that, and don't take it personally Sam...

And Yoshi "some many"? -_^

I never understood the point of "l337" anyway. Do people actually learn to type extremely fast like that because they think it's just too k00l?

Hmm, and I can't read them, all I know is:
1 = I
4 = A
5 = S
0 = O

so, my knowledge is really bad  Shocked

Remember, l33t is pretty much the domain of script kiddies, who think taking down other people's computers for no damn good reason is "too k00l". So, yes.

Pfft, forgot the no...
I have no idea why I use "1337". :)  :?

I think its cool, as long as I, and everyone can understand. :P
What luck, there's french fry stuck in my beard.
When we can't understand it, then it get's pretty dumb.  Dumber than normal.
lol no way
When used in sarcasm then yes, it's fine. However, it's often not. That's when I get pissed off. Even if the poster is intelligent and makes a good point or has something really useful to say, if it's in 1337 I'll immediately get super pissed and go kill a baby bird. Every single time.
