Just finished a TAS testrun of Metroid Reverse. Links to the five parts below:

It's very unoptimized, yes, but it's just an obscure hack; I was aiming primarily for entertainment and lack of extreme tedium in production. I think the end result is pretty entertaining and will be a good guide if anyone for some reason has the urge to attempt a proper TAS of it. This video has an in-game finish time of :26; I would guess a run of cpadolf's or saturn's quality would be a :21 or :20, with a better Phantoon fight, the metroid skip, the MB stand-up glitch, and pretty much every jump in the game done better.

EDIT: Noembed tags added. My apologies to the 56k-ers.

How abouts a smv of this?

If you really want it. Like I said in the first vid's comments, this was made in Snes9x 1.51 in the form of 30 smvs. Some of them desync near the end. There's no reason, except for proof of no tomfoolery, to watch them.

Double post to attach the second half; the board didn't like all the smvs in one package.

after watching this it seems likealmost half of the game doesn't require you to do anything while you just shinespark through pretty much the entire wrecked ship and a few sequences earlier. Nice first TAS though.

Yeah, the later part of the game is actually fairly short when playing through normally, but much of it was of course impossible to speed up. It's kind of like the Wrecked Ship Chozo in other speedruns.
