This has one major problem at the moment, I didn't open the gate in the Chozo Ice Temple. Probably could be worked around, may even be faster to just go trigger the fight inbounds and then power bomb adult sheegoth and collect Wave Beam last.

There's a lot of room for improvement here, not counting the whole "I'm stuck now" part since I didn't open the gate. This video was 3 seconds faster than the infinite speed method. If I did go through the rooms inbounds and opened the gate, I could still see this saving a few seconds... maybe. I'm not sure though, because of how absolutely stupid this is to pull off, I don't know if I care about those few seconds <_<
Wait so do you IS wave beam first then get sun? Because from the video you already got wave beam before the fight but that doesn't seem to make sense since why wouldn't you IS both at the same time if you're going to IS at all?
I did the math, and though it's still just theoretical, I believe Sun Tower can be climbed from the bottom without Spider. It's possible to BSJ off a war wasp, though it's a nightmare to stay balanced on. If you jump off the highest standable point on the spider track and land on a war wasp and 1BSJ, you should be able to land on the gate, and then IBJ up from there. This makes a Varialess route seem much faster than the current TAS's route... :/
Those routes don't really seem much faster than killing flaahgra (I mean IGT wise ), especially since you have to get some E-Tanks, or do you have a different route in mind ?
I don't know, you could get the one in HOTE pretty quickly, same with Main Plaza. Honestly a TAS might only need 2 if you get really good drops? (Strength would be a problem with just 2 though). the E-tank in Training Chamber could also be pretty fast, since afaik you can get into the SW in that room without floaty, using a really precise ghetto.

I doubt this but feel free to prove me wrong. afaik you can only get 2+3=5 drops and they cant be more than 10 energy refill ones, so 50 HP won at max.
You could get up to 90 if I recall correctly, 6 boxes in Fiery Shores which 4 of them can give you health, 8 in Monitor Station which can give you up to 50. (This is based on the percentages of the drops in rooms if I recall correctly)
I'm not totally sure how drops work but I'm fairly sure there's a limit set somewhere on how many of a pickup you can get in one room. eg the zoomers on the way to the Phazon Mines in Magmoor are set to drop a power bomb 100% of the time but only the first one actually drops one.
I still don't really see how this should end up faster for IGT. VMR requires you to get 2-3 E-Tanks which already wastes quite some time. additionally you have to travel back to Chozo ruins again just for nature, wild and maybe livegiver. Also with Powerbombs you can kill Flaahgra even faster than normally I thought and this route already goes through in a pretty straight line without much backtracking. Am I missing something big ?
SJF Main Plaza Missile Morph Ball Power Bomb Main Plaza E Tank Wild Charge Beam/Bombs Ice Beam before Flaahgra>Tallon>2VMR
This of course is under the assumption that it's faster to go a little out of your way at first to avoid backtracking after getting Bombs to fight Flaahgra and get Wild again. Which it could be. Dibs on not timing it, though.
hmm that's an interesting route. I don't know how fast you can get oob in main plaza, but I think it would be faster to get main plaza E-Tank earlier since you could stay oob after getting early powerbombs and wallcrawl into plaza access from main plaza ( the door is locked ) and then get wild ( though it sux to fight ghosts without charge ). The only big problem I see with this route is that nature is getting off the route except if you plan to go through magmor from the chozo elevator which I highly doubt you could do with only 2 or even 3 E-Tanks.
However since wild can be obtained any time, it would probably be best if you get nature, wild and lifegiver after phendrana and then go back to magmor via Tallon. However I don't think that's faster than just fighting flaahgra and going through magmor in a straight line even if you have to go through chozo ruins again later for lifegiver. However it's not very easy to compare both routes for TAS.

Oh hell, I did not consider Nature's impact on the run.
Anyway, I was thinking Main Plaza secret world like this
oh I didn't knew you could get oob there that quickly as well, so yeah that's definitely faster than staying oob and getting that E-Tank earlier. I guess I'll look up more stuff for this game just to learn more about it.
