rocks, locks, and invisible blocks

I didn't realize how quickly that door to Transport Tunnel A opened. This seems like the best strat (I did the damage boost controller savestate, so there still some time to be saved there).

rocks, locks, and invisible blocks
There is honestly no point in asking for help on this TAS, but like if anyone has any ideas on how to do this fast, PLEASE help me.

Basically, you can only really move forward after pressing R (plus you build speed doing that), jumping without pressing R cuts out all of your speed, hitting the walls slows you down a lot.
the load trigger is here

MP2 also a bit MP1 speedrunning
the only possible thing i can think of to speed that up is hitting a slope on your landing.
if I recall correctly you can jump into a ceiling and if you push against it it transfers your upward speed downward immediately, use that and hit a slope and jump? :)

What exactly did you end up doing? :D

i think he hit the slope on the side of the left wall; i would probably have tried the same thing, i think its the fastest way to do that room.

first dash hits the loading trigger for Ruined Shrine Access which saves a fair bit of time when I go by that door later. Second dash was just done with a controller, I haven't optimized it at all yet.
How hard was that second dash?

it's annoying to do well, but just doing it in general isn't that bad. I guess.

Edit:

I don't really know how I'm going to optimize the Ruined Shrine Access, I can probably dash into the door somehow(?) I went ahead and did it controller+savestate though:

Edit: just messing around with the PB wallcawl a little. if someone can think of a better way to get back inbounds after the PB than this, please share
I think it would be faster to not die before you go through the door.

you could try to transition to magma pool from oob, dash off of something towards the next door (a ghost maybe?), and then door warp back in-bounds.

actually, the next room automatically starts loading upon transition. not sure if you could make it in time.

PBs have a pretty big range, and flaahgra's vines can hit you pretty far. I'm pretty sure this is possible, but probably absolutely horrible to do legitimately... I can't wait.
That would be fucking legit to see done in the TAS if it's possible.
loving low%
that flaahgra 3 round is so genius! is 2 round also possible?
rocks, locks, and invisible blocks
You can't get a PB refill during the fight, so no, not with the items I'll have at that point.
How does that work? Can you go oob and lay a pb underneath in the centre?

EDIT:
Probably. You can do this too.

The first video I uploaded works by laying a PB on the frame the cutscene starts, hitting the second bomb slot during the cutscene. And my theory is that it's possible, by damage boosting off the vine when you lay your first bomb, to get close enough to the next slot to PB it without cheating.

Considering that the other 3 slots aren't even active until you use the first one, 2 round isn't possible through this means.

that's not true. no slots are active until you hit the first mirror up, after that they all work. the problem is the lack of PBs and no drops during the fight.
Oh, I must have been fed misinformation then because that's how I heard it worked.

My mistake.

Video on the right isn't as optimized as the one on the left

I think the right strat will be faster. Unfortunately the door doesn't open until you're right up near it, so I can't dash straight through the door without slowing down once it starts to open, or stopping and doing another dash (which could be possible, but might be annoying because there aren't any easy scan points to lock onto around here in the direction I'm facing.)

EDIT: I just realized I didn't skip text anywhere near optimally in the video of the new strat, it's actually faster in this comparison.

Edit:
more controller savestate testing (I'm about exactly 2 minutes ahead of T3's run at morph ball, give or take a second)

Edit:
this wallcrawl is 4 seconds slower than the above video, and could probably have 4 seconds taken off it at least

Edit: I'm going with the inbounds strat because it should be faster, and also lets me get both main plaza missiles. which means even if the oob is around the same speed to morph ball, it would still be slower.

ruined shrine access is a bad room and could very well kill the tas
Yes I'm sure that's the only think threatening the TAS
