Does anyone have any ideas on how to scan the target in the room before Parasite Queen first frame? I've tried everything and my best outcome so far was 2 second frame, using an R jump to enter the room, but because I jumped into the room I didn't have enough time to land than dash over to the hologram thing. Simply put the problem is: I can't lock onto the target quickly without R jumping, and jumping into the room makes it impossible to get to the hologram in time.

You can't unmorph in any direction other than straight.
You have to switch rooms before you can scan. (so just unmorphing, pressing R and L and looking to the side is useless)

3rd frame :/ I don't think it can be improved though.

If you press L R and up on the same frame you can slide into the room, then turn over to the scan target while still sliding, I doubt this will be done faster.

Manipulating those turrets is so awful :/

I can't wait to see a TAS of this game along with other primes as well someday. I can only imagine the amounts of frustration is going to be put into this. Its going to be a nightmare ahead...well maybe except for some folks who TASed Zelda Oot. If you can do that then this should be a breeze for you. ;)
This is incredible. I love how in that last small room I didn't realize what was going on at all when I watched it first, it was so fast! :O

I'm so looking forward to this! Hopefully you won't go into any issues with dolphin this time.

Also, do you mind uploading HQ vids in the near future (not this splitscreenstuff)? I think we all already know that mrspeedruns TAS sucks compared to yours, it's not even funny anymore. :P

You should see the rerecord count so far.

Believe it or not, we've already encountered some desync problems. Mostly just because they put about as much effort into putting Dolphin together as I do making Kool Aid. Fortunately, we've found a way to fix the problem (thanks Petrie)

itsPersonnal should have a 1440p w/ audio WIP up to Parasite Queen either today or tomorrow. Also... I thought it was pretty funny.

Whee

Rerecords: ~18436 (Dolphins rerecord counter isn't accurate though)

its a shame Dolphin still has Audio syncing problems, doing it manually never works out well <_<

i didnt use tas input i just played with savestates and slow down with a 360 controller i couldnt do frame perfect things so its no wonder that your tas is much more optimized and this tiny letters are annoying if you do it all the time. that my tas is worse isnt funny at all i never said my tas is perfect.
On your bomb space jump in that segment can you shoot the door and then grab the scan point to the right to dash through the next room instead of rolling.

not really, no. none of the scans really give a helpful dashing angles, and also the loading zone for the next room is so close to the start of the that hallway that stopping and changing facing angles enough to lock onto a scan target, even if it was in a place that would give a dash in a proper direction, it would still be slower then just morphing.

How about the room before PQ? I was expecting a dash of a turret or sth. there ^^

Awesome WIP, love the HD encode!

I don't see the opportunity for a dash there..? wouldn't it take longer to aim for a dash than jump out of the morph ball like they do at the end?
The damage boost they used there was probably way faster and looked pretty cool

Actually a dash is a few frames faster.. but its one of those things where the extra time it takes to manipulate the turrets to shot you into the right spot takes more then the time it saves doing it, we just got lucky with the manipulation last time and where able to make the turrets useful without losing time.
Okay so I cried a little when the escape sequence wasn't included

I've been working on this first part of the escape for a while, two more frames and I'll have 6:52:00 the frame the timer shows after the scan is finished which would be pretty awesome ;)

Sorry if this hurts anyone's eyes.

its not that impressive considering miles already did 6:52:05 in real time <_<
but i wasnt able to get a faster tas either for some reason..

also i ahve a small question i have a video of the start of a tas and put a savestate at the end how do you continue from that spot?

Edit: the 6:52:05 was the last frame before scanning
MP2 also a bit MP1 speedrunning
it seems like dolphin doesnt put the DTMS together are you supposed to have more than one DTM in the end of a TAS?
rocks, locks, and invisible blocks

lol

what was the time before scanning the spot?
rocks, locks, and invisible blocks
6:53:21

do you think you can still improve it?

(i was meant to write 6:53:05 btw)

Sooooo, who has come crazy ass route ideas only a TAS could pull off? we've already found that doing the Chozo Ice Temple in a SW is going to save time, so, what are some other SW or non SW related idea??

a Varia suit skip/ putting if off for a while has been an idea of mine for a while, though testing needs to be done to find if a 2 Tank VMR is possible (and also if this would be faster which I'm not so sure it would be). the general idea was to head back to Tallon after IBBF and then go right to Phen (activating the bomb slot in HOTE later when you come back for World) This idea would work much better if Spider Ball wasn't skipable because it would mean we could climb up Sun Tower with some fancy bomb jumps, after getting Nature on a backtrack though magmoor later in the run, which would skip Varia entirly and getting rid of the trip from Ice Beam to flaahgra.

Another idea is a crazy ass wallcrawl, most likely from Tallon Canyon to the other chozo elevator, the only real problem here is bombs, the 2nd room in chozo after the elevator currently require Bombs and so does the Furnace, and getting Bombs would most likely make the backtrack from Bombs to Tallon then up to the other Chozo elevator take far longer than just doing normal IBBF, but if there were someway to have a route something like:
Frigate, SJ, Missiles, Ball, Tallon, Wallcrawl past FCS, Ice Beam, Bombs, Charge, Varia and so on. it would most likely be faster, seeing as how going to Tallon then to the other Chozo elevator is faster inbounds than going through all of Chozo, and a TAS can move through SW much faster than any non-TAS player.

Anyway these are just some ideas that have randomly come to me at some point, I think they maybe worth testing and any other ridicules idea someone may have on a route change should be too, since we'd like to test other things before we just go with the current non-TAS route. ...also progress is actually being made on this TAS again o:
