I'm sad that some SBing can't be done with the PAL version, but since I still can do a 22% game (well, so far *I* couldn't, but it's possible) I don't think it's too bad.
Moreover, PAL crashes less, looks better (60 fps if your tv can handle it and more lines), and it harder! (and seeing how the games are nowadays, the slight improvement in difficulty makes the PAL version soooooo much better to me).

Also, saying that you'd stop gaming if you had to play PAL versions is ridiculous since for most games it doesn't change a thing. Also having games slightly later is most of the times a good thing (except that you have to wait for it...). Look at FFX, Dark Aeons were the BEST thing of the game, and NTSC players didn't have them in the original version!
It's more the wait we have to put up with for certain games. Animal Crossing only came out in Europe on 24th September 2004. About 2 years after it came out in the states. Even Metroid Prime had a 4 month delay for PAL version. Fire Emblem (GBA) only came out in July over here and the GBA is region free! Zelda Four Swords Adventures isn't out until January.

Could you make things a little clearer instead of just giving out little bits of opinions?

I hate waiting, and for PAL, 99% of the time you have to wait a long time, or the game is never released anyway.  PAL gets the shaft all the time for games.

Actually the best thing about FF10 is the Expert Sphere Grid, which is a moot point, as I didn't actually have a PS2 until last year, in which I imported the International version which has Dark Aeons and the Expert Grid.  :o

I'm just an avid importer with some games; I don't even wait for the US version, that takes too long to come out as well.  And then PAL gets it like a year after that sometimes.

And one of the main game series I play almost never comes out anywhere but Japan, so all I'd have is like the FF games pretty much, and non-Japan regions take so long to come out it wouldn't be worth it.

Expert Sphere Grid isn't worth it in the end, as there are fewer nodes than in the normal Grid, which means that you'd have a harder time maxing all the stats you want to max.

And I hate waiting for games, too.

I hate it too. If I had to wait for a game such as Echoes for as long as some of the PAL people do, I would shoot myself.

Ready and willing.
Bad example... Echoes is already out in PAL.

Sure it is, you can max the stats that matter fine, and I like variety for what the characters can learn right off. ^^

9999HP is enough, 999MP is enough, and there's enough nodes to get 255 Strength, Agility, Defense, Magic Defense, Accuracy, and 100 Luck does the job.
What luck, there's french fry stuck in my beard.
What is the difference between the two Sphere Grids, anyways?  I'm pretty familiar with the normal one.

Stuff is in completely different areas, some new stuff was added, but the big thing is everyone starts in the middle, and there are no locks to anyone's area.  So right off you can have 4 black mages if you want (like me, I send Yuna right over to level 1 black magic, and Lulu is then made absolutely useless).

Damn, that'd be nice.

The Asian version is $20 on ebay usually..English only.

But you'd need a JP/Asian PS2, or one of those things that let you play imports/copies.
@ Red Scarlet: Yeah I hate waiting too, but I seem to be more patient than you XD

On the other hand I love the difficulty in Prime, after finding this site and watching all the vids of the differences I'm so glad we got the modified version in its initial release, though Hard mode Omega Pirate is a nightmare though ^^ But it's easily beaten with persistance.

persistance is something i'm lacking. i gave up on hard omega pirate after 5 defeats :?
I just kinda imagine the game feeling sorry for me after awhile and letting me win XD

So you never beat him? Just keep trying. I know I died more than that the first time through Hard (it was only my second time through the game). Trust me, the feeling you get when you beat him is definitely worth it.
The PAL versions of some of the games we play like Metroid Prime have more stuff than what the NTSC versions have.

Example of Metroid Prime -

NTSC - Doesn't have language selection, and some enemies are easier.

PAL - Has a language selection, and some enemies and bosses are either easier or hard.

Me, Mafus, Lynk Former, and anyone else living down under, or live in European countries have some more choice because some of us don't know english, and know another like, French, German, Italian, or Spanish.

So, I think PAL might be better than NTSC, but that's just me. :|

Yeah, it all depends on where you live, and what language you speak. I mean, if you speak Spanish, then of course you'd want the PAL version.
Well in terms of language and all that I don't really care, I speak english *shrugs*

The thing I love about my version of Prime is the fact that it's a lot harder than the initial US release. :D Which means that Prime 2's level of difficulty was raised to match the difficulty of the updated versions which means I'll be pretty much at home with the difficulty of Echoes :P
