metroid: other m has been announced! yeaaahhh [locked]

To me it seems fitting that Samus would fight more physically/aggressively than we've seen before. Think of all of the training she's had with both the Chozo and Federation, plus the fact that she's a bounty hunter, considered the best by many at some point. I can see her doing whatever she has to if necessary to take down her enemies.

You misread the debate. Nobody outright said that it is most definitely not supposed to be the same scene. People just said Mother Brain doesn't look the same, leading some to not realize it's supposed to be that scene the first time seeing it. It only lasts like five seconds and is full of flashing lights, after all.

well it looks like a lot of the navigation will be quasy 2D, so that's pretty much as good, better than 100% first person anyways IMO

I don't care if every other Metroid fan in the world is unimpressed and/or playing it cool. I'm blown away enough for ALL of us. This will kick ass so hard it kicks the ass back in time to before there were asses and thus invents the ass, causing a time-paradox black hole that can only be fixed by several Samuses of different ages creating a static warp shell with their Power Suits.

In the manga, she was orphaned at three years old ("twee and a haff"?!). However, what I'm thinking is phantom mom. That, or maybe someone similar, and thus piquing Ms. Aran's* insterest.
