BTW don't you hear some MPHy sound at the beginning of the trailer??? just at the beginning, with the waves!

Be careful. Overanalyzing trailers can turn you into a vegetable (or at least some type of plant).

but i'm MPHobe. let's say no to MPH proliferation, in order to preserve the franchise!

Yes that is cool...it's the final battle from Super Metroid where Mother Brain kills the orphan Metroid after it saves samus.

Yes that's a very accurate description of the looks of the screenshot. It's nice to have gurus like you to point these things out to us.

And no, I don't mean that.

This "Sylux" battle you guys are talking about looks more like a Fusion style space pirate to me. Also since I think about it, that helmet reminds me of federation gear from Corruption designs, but I've never actually played the game so I could be mistaken. If it's a federation trooper that's close to Samus, that the fans should remember, it seems likely that it's Houston.
Is that what that is?  I couldn't tell before but you're right it looks very similar...

Samus looks like a freakin' badass. She just pwned the hell out of Ridley.

Shocked

it's not metroid prime anymore, thank God for that.
I'm not a fan of TeamNinja, but you can never tell where a game's going to go from a trailer a year before the release date listed.  Action-y is alright but I still hope there are puzzles to solve, otherwise it won't be a Metroid game.  Just action scenes with Samus in them.

You never know, I mean, remember Metroid 64?  Where Samus's blaster had a clip?
Almost happy

Team Ninja worked on the new Ninja Gaiden games.  How many of you liked those?  The reason why I ask is that the game play seems to me to borrow some aspects from those games.

I can't speak for the sequel released on Xbox 360 since I haven't played it, but the first Ninja Gaiden for the Xbox was completely awesome, easily one of the best games for the Xbox. I also hope that the game will be as hard as those games, though with adjustable difficult for the non masochists out there.

Also I like how the games name abbreviated is MOM.

That's a great Final Fantasy trailer!

what the hell are you talking about?

also, loving the power and varia suits.

loved watching samus headlock and make that thing her bitch. SO much niceness.
I still can't believe people who didn't see mother brain the first time they watched the the trailer, I mean you gotta be BLIND>

I love "random black guy" about two thirds into the trailer :D
rotfl me too
I'm thinking that this game will span across several different points in the Metroid universe, 'cause there were obvious references to many different times and events. Which makes me think that the game will be split up in a similar way to Corruption.
Quote from Gaius_4:
Whoever it is - it is someone in a suit like Samus.  If you stop the video at the right time you can see a blue suit and helmet and a pink(ish) visor.  But he/it has these red bug-like wings.

Wait could it be...
Armstrong Houston???

There are a lot of things I didn't notice at first. I thought of the Mother Brain scene as simply a large bipedal beast that shoots ...fire from its face. :^/ Also that Volvagia type creature kind of reminds me of Serris after the third or so playthrough.

yeah er honestly it really doesn't look much like mother brain to me.

Crap. That looks nothing like the guy I tried to "remember." >_< It's not the most ridiculous theory I had though. My first thought had been "Uh...that guy that hugged the elite in the special ending of Halo?"

I'm more amazed that people weren't sure if that big dragon thing was Ridley.

THAT ISN'T MOTHERBRAIN?

According to the context, it certainly seems like it must be Mother Brain. All he's saying is it doesn't really resemble it THAT much, and especially at a first glance and seeing Samus charge up a regular Charged shot and coolly say "Time to go" implying that nothing just killed a hatchling she's been chasing all mission...it just doesn't seem at first glance to be the SM MB third phase fight everyone remembers. There are clear parallels, but there are also pretty clear discrepancies.

You're honestly going to tell me...
YOU DIDN'T NOTICE THEM?

EDIT: Upon  further inspection of the image you posted...That looks nothing like a dinosaur, OR a brain - much less a mother. Come on, seriously. Nice "Evidence" you provided there, dude.
man you really ARE blind, I thought people were just trolling that they didn't see mother brain... but you're actually serious? Either that or an excellent troll.

Sergent Johnson. And he is awesome.

I definitely see the similarities.  You can see the outline of the single eye, it has the two smaller arms, and in the second image that looks very much like it's a Metroid hovering over Samus.

I'm blind? Are you saying that really looks anything like the MB from Super Metroid? I never said it ISN'T MB, I'm even pretty sure it's supposed to be, but it really doesn't bare THAT much resemblance to her.

I also get the feeling that you think everyone's a troll, as you seem to have an idea that someone that doesn't see things exactly the same is obviously just being stupid. I hope you're not irreparably flaming, but you are flaming at the moment. Cease and desist, or get off my forums.
