1: It has almost NO SBing potential.  This is especially evident when you compare it to Super and Prime.

So? I don't really give a damn about sequence breaking, but more about the fun factor in the game (ever heard of that? It's not directly related to the sequence breaking potential, y'know). To me, and I believe this is also the opinion of most Metroid players out there, Fusion was just a fun game, and that's it. Short, no sequence breaking, whatever you say, but fun nonetheless. The sequence braking potential is just an added plus.

Quote from RoboBlob:
2: It is the most linear Metroid game, if not THE most linear game in existance.  There is almost no skill involved in navigating the areas.

Again, who gives a damn? Alright, it wasn't as huge as Super was (I'm not mentioning Prime here, for the sole reason that I don't like it, but I don't want to sound like I'm senselessly bashing it, as you're doing now with Fusion). So what? Most of the areas were easy, yes, but I'm sure the serious players did look for something else before finishing the game. And I'm also sure they found it. In any case, remember that the GBA is mainly targeted at younger players, and those younger players do NOT (and I'll repeat myself, DO NOT) have the experience/ability/instinct people like you and me have developed by playing all Metroid games over the years. After all, the game's been rated as E, and most kids nowadays don't like playing a game in which they feel completely lost and helpless. Proof: Try all the latest adventure games. They always tell you what to do next, in order to at least advance the story linearly.

Quote from RoboBlob:
3: It ruins the classic Samus look.  I know how good the suits look is purely an opinion, but I really hate the fusion suit.

I'm thankful you agree with me that it's merely an opinion. As such, since we're debating over objective matters, that doesn't really count, and hence, I'm ignoring this point (I didn't like too much it either, but it served its purpose, which is what it was designed to do).

Quote from RoboBlob:
I'll admit, the bosses and weapon systems in this game are cool, but to me , that's about it.

Until you finally show some condescendence. Indeed, the bosses were cool, and some of them very difficult at points. I also personally prefer the weapon system of this game rather than Super's. (So sue me.)

Quote from RoboBlob:
It's short and easy as hell.

Glad you noticed. Few games nowadays have the depth and general basic longevity of a Metroid game, and as pointed out before, this game is somewhat aimed to kids, since it is produced in a game system that's used mostly by kids (although there are still people like me and possibly you that also use it, and are over the 15 year old mark - personally, I'm almost 20).

Quote from RoboBlob:
P.S.: 4: Have you ever heard of hyperbole? I know it isn't "extremely gay in every way" I was just trying to show how much I disprove of it.

I have indeed heard of it. And seems to me that what you used is not a hyperbole, but an exaggerated metaphor (since you're comparing it to something, in this case, a behavior, that's racially discriminated). Believe me, I'm an expert linguist, and I know what I'm talking about. And there's no need to (again, I emphasize) senselessly bash a game that does not deserve it.
Wow.  Your arguments were ever so logical.  Here are some examples:

"So? I don't really give a damn about sequence breaking"

-yea I can see how you would be able to complain about me making biased arguments...

"Again, who gives a damn?"

-Ohh! Even classier and more logical than the first opening statement!  Ever considered the fact that this forum is part of a site that is ABOUT sequence breaking?

"And there's no need to (again, I emphasize) senselessly bash a game that does not deserve it."

-Who is to determine what game does deserve a bashing? It's an opinion, so I can say whatever I want.  I would understand if you hade made this game, but you had no part in its design.

Finally , I want to give you some advice.  Read you entire response to my first quote, read what I said about the forum you are posting on, and consider if this is where you belong.

*looks at the above argument*

GAAHH! Would you two stop fighting over this!?!?! You're acting like little children! This is so stupid! Back and forth, back and forth, please, somebody stop them! It's driving me insane! You both obviously have youre opinions and we all respect them, so could we please stop this?

I may be sounding harsh, but i don't want to get into this fight, i just want it to end. I'm getting really tired of it. *sigh* :?
Not impossible
just highly unlikely
The people have spoken. Break it up you two.

Oh well, I thought people cared most about the games than a few features on them. But yes indeed, I agree to disagree. And even though the site homes Sequence Breaking videos and tips, to me it doesn't really mean that it's exclusively designed for that. But meh.

Hmm... I already have one, don't I?

Laughing  Nice picture Yoshi.
The main reason I liked Fusion could be because this is the first Metroid game that I got 100% without a guide, and it's also the first game in which I did a low% run.(With the exception of MZM, but that doesn't really count since I only did it for the endings and it wasn't lowest possible percentage)
Metroid Fusion is one of the few games I _haven't_ gotten 100% without a guide. :|
I('d) like to watch (some MP3 runs)
MF is the only Metroid I haven't gotten 100% in (maybe aside from 2, I'm not sure what I got in that), mainly because I didn't get 100% my first/only time playing it.

Wow, not the reply I imagined TRH would have.

What did you imagine, then? :?

WTF this topic wasn't replied to in 10 months, Alizée lock!

Is what I imagined.
Quote from Faust:
The only question I have is, how many more times am I going to have to collect the exact same powerups? They can't keep this lose-your-powers, regain-your-powers thing up forever. They're running out of plausible reasons for Samus to lose her powers. (The electric blast that damages everything in MP is a bit hokey.) Not to say that regaining them doesn't incite the same amount of satisfaction as always.

Have you noticed the one big difference between SM and MF? In Fusion, they at least explain why Samus lost her abilities which is pretty well explained.
But in SM, they don't say a word! It's the third part for christ sake! And Samus doesn't seem to know it either! She's probably like: "Mission complete! Now I gotta get rid of my abilities so I can collect them again in the next mission..."
I don't know much about the chozos, but how come every planet has the same chozo abilities ready just for Samus?

Ok, I admit, it would be very stupid if Samus would have the same abilities at the beginning of the game, but that's why they could explain WHY she lost them... Like in Fusion!
soaking through
Super Metroid came in the days when games were made to be good, and rarely had stories/tutorials/logic of any kind.  If a game is truly good, it has no need for sense.
everybody knows it's true
I wanted to do maybe, because of the castaway from the exploration, metroids (except for the omega), and SBing; but it still had the addictive gameplay and powerups.

YAY
yes

great game
i play it allot...
After reading people's comments here, I'd have sworn that the game was the antichrist or something.  I recently got the game, and I have to say that it's not THAT bad of a game.

I have to admit that the random elements are annoying, yeah.  Yes, not being able to SB sucks.  But, deep down, beneath all the shortcomings, it's a pretty solid game, except Adam.  Man, what's that guy's deal?  I've seen thirteen year old girls be more concise.  You could probably take every briefing he gives you and compile it into 3 bullet points each.

Like AQA, before Serris could be done like this:
· Serris destroyed half this area.  It may or may not be infected with X.  It does this kind of stuff all the damn time, even when we are in control of our own damn space station.  We really have no clue what the hell we're doing.  You know what to do.
· Holy crap, sharks with friggin' lasers on their heads.  Stay out of the water.

Okay, I'm a bit hazy on what all was said on that one, but that's pretty much the gist of it.  I think if they added this kind of option in the menu, the complaining would drop by half.
Alright, here's my reasoning on the game:

Adam: "Blah blah blah."
Samus: "..." (when will he shut up?)
Adam: "Blah blah blah blah blah."
Samus: "..." (sigh)
Adam: "What are you waiting for? Get to it!"
Samus: "..." (If you shut up, I can go finish my mission. But noooo, you just sit there ranting on and on about shit I really don't give a fuck about and yet you blame me because you're a slow ass bastard.)
