EDIT: DEMO 2 IS NOW RELEASED!  GET IT NOW!
The minimap and broken Main Deck room have still not been fixed, but there are plenty of good room redesigns.
Demo 2 had its release rushed and has a few bugs.  Temporarily removed Demo 2 until I fix them.  Sorry, fellas.

After about a week of working on it, the first part of Metroid Fusion RBO is now complete.  In case you do not know, RBO is short for Reverse Boss Order.  The term usually refers to a type of Super Metroid run in which you defeat the bosses in the complete reverse order you were supposed to, with the exception of final bosses, in that case Mother Brain.  Metroid Fusion RBO takes that idea to the MF perspective, in which you defeat the bosses in reverse order, starting with Ridley and ending with Arachnus, then going on to the final bosses, the SA-X and Omega Metroid.  The version released today spans fom the begining of the game to Ridley(1st boss).  Enjoy!

Edit: Changed topic name, as there has apparently been confusion over whether or not this is finished.  Remember, this is only a demo, and at this point in time, a lot has changed since this release.
Thread title:
Green-Kirby, ROAR!
Maybe a bit of back story?

Are there any level design changes beside item blocks? (Like you need ice missile to freeze enemies, etc)
Maybe show some screenshots? I would love to see some!
Are the later bosses (ridley for example) made easier and the earlier bosses harder?
Is the patch for (U) or (E) ROM?
...
Sorry, I forgot to mention that the patch is for the (U) ROM.  Also, there are quite a few changes in level design.  Many rooms have been changed completely, expansion locations have moved, certain rooms have changed location, and some rooms were completely cut out of the game to make things more interesting.  You'll see once you find the first data room.
I'm going to wait until this thing is finished before I play it.
err..
yeah, same here. I'm gonna wait.
perhaps you should specify that this is only a beta?..or just an alpha?

hopefully this will turn into a discussion thread.
I'm also not in a good mood to play fusion right now. I'm being beat down by someone's crazy hard MF hack :<
Um, I patched the rom. And Archanus was still the first boss.

Edit: The .ips patch should be fixed now.  If you downloaded the old one, replace it with this one.
Do you bother testing your patches? It froze when I entered the navigation room before the elevator.
...
Old news, actually.  I must have overloaded that room with sprites when I tried to change the spriteset.  I'm working on fixing it.
However, that is not the way to go.  Not until you are ready to fight Arachnus later.  Look around--there are some changes made, you know.
I got missiles from ridley, which I already have, so now I can't do anything.
...
That's where this release ends for now.  I've been trying to figure out a way to make Ridley give you Morph Ball.  Strangely, he gives you missiles.  When I have a solution, I will update the patch.  If anyone knows how to fix this, I would appreciate help.
Sounds similar to how if you kill nettori early it says level 1 doors unlocked. I would have no clue how to change that though.
...
The level 1 door unlock happened with Ridley in earlier tests until PJ helped me "fix" it.  It wasn't really fixed, of course, since now he just gives you Missiles.

Just to be sure....  This is our first Fusion hack / patch to be released here in the forum?

I've added it to the list in a 3rd category.

Edit: If it's still preliminary  or even a demo I'll have to remove it until it's complete.

Eh?
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
Shouldn't we wait until it's beyond preliminary stages?  As far as I can see at the moment, it's barely beyond paper-planning stages. Eh?

It's not quite ready for the list yet, I just created the patch as a sort of Alpha demo.  I will replace it with the full version once complete.

Edit: New Screenshots!  Power Bomb doors added!

Those look like normal yellow doors though.  aiwebs_014

I know.  But here's the trick--their clipdata is power bomb blocks, so the only way to open them is through the use of a PB.  Also, screw security rooms, I might be removing them.  Also, I changed the level 0 doors to a blue color to resemble the classic Metroid doors.  Once you enter them, they turn level 0's normal grey color on the other side, so you can keep track of where you came from.  Screenshot below.

but that raises another question. there's clipdata for things like power bomb blocks, missile blocks, and shotblocks, right? wouldn't the door tiles break like shotblocks when destroyed, and/or the door  would close behind you incorrectly?
and if you drop a pb in juuuusst the right place, wouldn't you be able to destroy half of the door?
...
No, only the hatch is PB blocks.  The rest is normal.
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
I think what Bloodsonic is trying to ask is: If the door's hatch has Power Bomb clipdata, implying that you have to open them with a Power Bomb, wouldn't the tiles that make up the hatch actually be destroyed by them, rather than 'opening'? Eh?  This would look very strange in-game, as it'd have to be set as respawning to have the appearance of a door, and you'd need to bomb it every time, unless you managed to change its clipdata afterward?
...
No, the door does not return, I'm using never-respawn power bomb blocks.  Think of most Metroid games how missile doors/power bomb doors only need to have that weapon used on them once.
. . .
Phazar: This is what he ment...

If you PB in a spot far away form the door, but close enough for a PB to only destroy 'part' of the door, it would look like shit...

I attached a mock up of how this would look.

It might not be a problem in such a small room, but if you plan on using these PB doors in more that that room, (and I'm pretty sure you are...) you might want to rethink the PB thing.
