Hey, I'll make avatars for you, you just tell me what you want, and I'll try to make it for you! Anyone who wants one, just tell me what you want, don't be shy, tell me! I'm a very generous person.
Indeed. Besides, there's already a similar thread on the M2K2 / MHQ forum. If you want to offer avatars, you can do it there. It'll be easier to keep track of.
Thank you so very much. By the way, may I ask how you do it so well?
If you're referring to Phazonizing Samus pics, its quite simple really. Use an image editor, such as Photoshop, though my personal preference is Paintshop Pro, and grayscale the pic. Keep an original version of the picture on hand. Use a brightness/contrast adjustment to darken her suit so that it looks more like a reflective black than a grayed varia/gravity. You probably have to lasso different portions of her suit for this part because if you just adjust it for the whole pic, it'll look wrong because her shoulders will be lighter in color than her torso. If there is a background in the original pic you want to maintain when she's Phazonized, then lasso just Samus and then grayscale/darken that selection.
Then just overlay your corrected Samus on the original image. Then you can lasso her visor and the green lights on her suit and colorize them to red-orange. Voila!
The trick with your avy was the phazon arm cannon. For that, I found a pic of it online and did a lot of alteration/image optimization so that it looked right with the rest of the image. I had to resize it and erase any outline and then rotate and overlay it. (the phazon arm cannon was actually on a white background which made it kind of a pain in the ass).
For a first time trying something like that, it's pretty good. The helmet and shoulder orbs look perfect, but the rest is a little too dark. Also, Faust seems to be forgetting that the parts that are yellow on the varia/gravity suits aren't black on the phazon suit, they're grey tinted red. I'd also look into just trying to tint the visor and other parts red instead of drawing straight over them. Faust appears to be more familiar than image editing software than me, and can probably explain it better than me. It sure as hell doesn't suck, though. I admire you for jumping straight in with a full-body shot instead of going for just a head. :D
It'd be easier to replicate the Phazon Suit if I could find a quality pic of it. What I did is just from memory and I realize that there are some color variations. Her visor is actually more of a light orange and there is some difference in the body coloration as opposed to the straight black I've been using. It's also pretty hard to copy the white aura the suit has without making it look like crap.
Still, it looks pretty good for my purposes. I'll fix them if I ever get a better look. Btw, looking good MMcLean.
Maybe one of the hosted speedruns has a good view of it...
