i just came up with it.  what you do is go through the game, and use as few missiles as possible. that means that you can only use missiles on CoreX and those green/blue things, plus the atmosphere machines. (pretty much every enemy is affected by the charge beam, and those that aren't can be ignored.) so, who challeneges is?

Very weird challenge. Im completed 15 missile run only 1 missile expansion (1% item).  Minimal possible more missile is 15. You need use lot charge beam 1% speedrun.
so are you challenging? i have the hi-jump on this run. you guys should try it. it's more challenging than you think. Wink
Since we don't use the charge beam when speedrunning, the fights should be original, but long. Well I don't know overall if it's a good idea or not, I would encourage all different types of speedruns, and you say the run would be challenging. Just hope the MF's charge sound won't make me mad (*UWUWUWUWUWUWUWUWUWUW*all the time).
I complted a run with about 15 or 16 missles.
15 unless you got 4 missiles tanks and finished the game and left the mother ship with 16.
...what?

I can only figure that you're talking about how many missiles one would have left after defeating the SA-X (I never counted how many it takes), but you're not counting the 10 that you get when you first download missiles if you think that 16 = four missile tanks.

You always get the high jump. Anyways, I dont like the idea a low missle run because on my 1% runs, I only use the missles about 5 times when they're not required and 1% is challenging enough.
you're getting it all wrong. you can get as many of everything as you want, it's just that you don't use missiles. you only use them if you are fighting a Core-X, or if you find one of those enemies that can only be hurt by missiles.
What am I getting all wrong? Its just that I already dont use missles a lot. Imo, not using charge beam would be harder.
By comparing it to 1% you seem to be implying you wouldn't have any e-tanks or power bombs beyond what you start with, I guess.
If hes talking about e-tanks and power bombs, then using no missles would be quite easy (well, at least to me). A low missle run isnt much of a big deal anyways.
I think what NeoRidleyX tries to say is that in this run we just don't use missiles, although you can take every of them, like you can take e-tanks and power bombs. At least you may not be able to take the e-tank before Arachnus (The one you must get with missiles).
I did something similar to this, but it was Low-Energy. I'll try this one out.
