Lowest possible game time w/o secret worlds

Trying a little change of pace. Just seeing how far I can abuse the game's timing glitch to drive down the time. Managed a 00:47, with two segments that were less than 3 seconds away from making the minute cut (apparently the timer starts just as samus appears, and I was basing it off when you've got control... go me).

Total real time was 1:05:18 :P

If you really wanted to get technical, you could save EVERYWHERE, use the saving anywhere glitch to slowly inch your way towards the end of a room with a save station, then reboot the game and start out right in front of a door to your next destination, with a little bit of time saved.

Meh, it's not like it matters all that much anyway, except maybe for bragging rights. But then again, you were the first to run sub 1:00, and also have the 100% record, so you could brag all you want already.

Well, it's an easy way to shave 20 minutes off your time. It's a shame I even had to mention it. <_<

Kind of... While you're trying to save, you're still eating up game time, meaning you shouldn't go past the minute marker while doing the trick. All it will save is a bit of time in the next segment if it's necessary.

Actually, that might be a way to shave off that damn 2 seconds off the one segment to get it under. Might have to try it.

I see it as more of a puzzle than anything. The platforming/play is actually pretty lax (except for a few sections that barely scrape by), but it's all in how each segment is planned to make the most of the free 59 seconds you get.

It's a nice change of pace.

You could try doing the whole game without saving, although that would be a little tricky...but hey, I completed the game without saving once, and with only 2 energy tanks as well, so it is perfectly possible....

...only it took over 3 hours. Embarassed

No idea. I don't even know of any useful ones except for the one from ruins 1 -> ruins 2, and even then it would require killing off the metroids in the tunnels below, before it's used.
