Anywhere, everywhere
It's been discovered that when you lose items after skipping that in the beginning, every item you get is lost, but the percentage reverts to zero. The beam equipped stays, but it cannot be switched without losing the beam forever. I feel that this route could allow for a potential 5%, based on the idea that the sky temple transport can be used without light suit, which I've heard is possible. I know it wouldn't be as cool as the 7%, but it still would be pretty interesting. Let me know if any of this is impossible.

Skip losing items
Early Power Bomb
Violet
Amber
Do morph ball maze to open Agon portal
Dark Beam
Light Beam
Get the two Agon dark temple keys on the pirate base side
Super Missile/Emerald/Boost Ball
Grapple/Main Power Bomb
Dark Visor
Open up the Screw Attack but don’t get it.
Beat the Spider Guardian but don’t get the Spider Ball.
Wallcrawl to Sanctuary energy
Seeker Missile
Light Suit
Get the 9 Sky Temple keys and open any missile/super missile/ translator doors etc. that need to be opened.
Lose items (have dark beam equipped)
Use Agon portal opened earlier, Bombs, Space Jump (2%)
Get third Agon key and Dark Suit (3%)
Sanctuary elevator sw, wallcrawl to Screw Attack (4%)
Find a screw attack sw, wallcrawl to Spider Ball. (5%)
Wallcrawl out of Sanctuary
*May need energy tank(s) here*
Sky Temple

EDIT: Realized you need bombs for emperor ing

Super Missile/Emerald/Boost Ball

You start with Boost.

How do you plan on getting back across GA?

Quote:
Beat the Spider Guardian but don’t get the Spider Ball.

Pretty sure it disappears if you leave without collecting it.

Quote:
Wallcrawl to Sanctuary energy

Can't get back out without Screw Attack.

Quote:

Keys disappear during the item loss (though you could get all of them and return them beforehand, probably).

Sorry for only bringing up these problems now, but they're easier to spot when you've laid the route out like this. :\

roll jump from the etank side?
Not getting back across Watch Station Access, getting back across Grand Abyss.
Anywhere, everywhere
That's why I said get grapple. Can't you go back to the dark world? Or is that just a one side only portal?
Yeah, there's no portal in the Light world.

You collect 5 items

1. Bombs
2. Space Jump
3. Dark Suit
4. Screw Attack
5. Spider

5%

Screw Attack and Spider require Boost to get

6%

Boost requires both the Dark and Light Beam to get (without SA). The first door you come across is a Dark door, so that would be your "fake" beam. This means you have to get the Light beam.

7%

Now since the second door you come across is a Light Beam door, this means you gave up your "fake" Dark Beam. To make up for it, you'd have to collect Annihilator to open portals. I don't think you can get it without Dark, but for the sake of argument...

8%

Now there's other obvious problems with this (you can't possibly get all of the keys without both the Light Beam and Screw Attack, for one...), but this pushes it over the actual low% already.
Anywhere, everywhere
Ok thanks. Well, that's what a knowledge-less person gets for trying to do something. :^(
my umbrella goes directly to Bankai
the item loss is just really bad.
I wonder... Could the same concept be applied to any% conditions? It wouldn't lower the low% at all, but it could still make it possible to complete the game without the Light Suit, among other things, if you were done using them to get and return the Sky Temple Keys by the time you triggered the item reset.

Although it doesn't look like it, looking at Miles' post.
Why would you want to lose all your items in the any percent?

Not for the purposes of speedruns or anything, just to see if it could be done.

One thing I kinda want to test is if the entirety of the last level has Dark World Poison on it at all. It may be like Magmoor after that one room. Which would mean that only that poison cloud would do damage to you during EI2.

If so then the only things that would actually be required for all of the EI fight would be Spider and Bombs. (plus anything needed to get up to the fight room)
Couldn't that be tested with AR?
The Overlord of All Acorns.

you also have to fight Dark Samus

which would prove to be rough without dark suit

Assuming that that location has Dark Area damage as well. (Cause the phazon pierces all suits)

You fight Dark Samus 3/4 in Sky Temple Gateway, which you can already access without the Light Suit. It damages you the same as anywhere else in Dark Aether.
>_> You'd die without light suit against Dark Samus. Unless you have most energy tanks.

I'm only talking about the last fight with DS. After EI3.
I want to know if that area has Dark World Damage.

@mario
Not the way I've seen Miles play.
Bangaa Bishop
I would think so, since it's in the dark world. Are there any places in the dark world that don't have dark damage?

Again, the area isn't in Sky Temple. It's always been possible to get there without the Light Suit.

That's the same room where you enter the sky temple keys. It's entirely possible to go there before you have the light suit, and it has the same damage characteristics as any other place in Dark Aether.
when you loose your items when everething is equipped i say:gameover
game says you have 100% but you have no items
it does not change anything to yout percentageConfused
It does for me...
